Digital Camera Recommendations?

I am going to be in the market for a digital camera here pretty soon. I'm going to be starting out shooting my own content, so I'll need a decent camera, yet not top of the line. I figure I can upgrade down the road.

Anyone have any suggestions to what to keep my eye open for and what to stay away from?

Thanks!

Go with Canon Elph 3.2 Megapixel

It's the best ;-)

Nikon D100

Yes it's sort of "top of the line" but why not start with something good

It's just a tool but if this is going to be your source for income you need the right tool

A great place to review other Digital Cameras is......

DP Review

Canon D10 or Canon D1 for quickly shoots!

I am lusting after the Canon EOS-10D. I shopped around quite a bit this autumn, and settled on the D60 as being the best for my needs. (DPReview was great, privided enough info to help me choose between very competitive cameras.) When I compare the 10D to the D60, I am blown away. It looks to be a very good improvement on the same basic design, at a much better price.

For top-end Nikon go D100, if that isn't in your price range, check out the Coolpix series. They by far have the best quality in the price range.. You can't go wrong with Nikon products period.. superior quality, the damn things are bulletproof, fantastic warrenties... They're just awesome.

The most important is the lens not a body of the camera.I think that D100 is a great stuff but I would defenitely go with Canon - D10 for 6Mpix (read comparsion with D100 on dpreview.com )
Also probably all of us would recommend CAnon D1s - but it is about 8000 USd so....

Yes and no..the lens doesn't do shit if the body isn't good/working. I've had every other camera I own freeze up at one time or another. I have *NEVER EVER* had a single problem with a Nikon. EVER. My F5 is pushing several hundred thousand shutter releases, as well.

We've used the Canon D60 for about 4 months and have had good luck with it. Canon all the way.

Check you www.dpreview.com for some tips.
