Fashion photographer dies at 87

Like with many people, sometimes we haven't heard of them while they were alive.

Looking at his photography, it seems a class of it's own, especially reading the news article, they say "Bill Cunningham, who turned fashion photography into his own branch of cultural anthropology on the streets of New York".

Had anyone here on GFY seen his images before now?

Bill Cunningham was an epic photographer, his documentary is fantastic. I've watched it a coupke times, if you're into street photography, take the time to watch it and you will learn a lot and be entertained.

He was a legend, and saw him a few times when I lived in NYC... quite a character.

He was one of the innovators of street and lifestyle photography. His documentary is a refreshing look on loving your career. What a bummer RIP.

wow, so many kind words above! Amazing. & as said, until reading the article & hearing more about him, I didn't know of his works.

It's a great shame in life, as many must be like me & not knowing about his work until he's gone :(
