When was last time you were scammed?
For me i was doing a Litcoin / Payoneer exchange from a guy I don't know on BitcoinTalk, it was a small amount so I didnt want to wait for some Escrow guy, so I went ahead and sent first, the guy vanished (less than $100 worth of LTC he stole from me)
What about you? Adult biz related, or not, lets hear it :helpme |
^^^that sucks :/ aside from the anger though you gotta pity someone who operates that way. hope it helps to know that you're a better person than that azz will ever be
I'm pretty lucky, actually have never been scammed. someone tried (my last main site, the owners closed without paying anyone). I hate that other women lost money but ultimately it worked out well for me, was what prompted me to go completely solo. don't think I'd have the career I have today if they hadn't tried to fuck me over. passed on my lawyer info to my peers who got screwed as well, but most were owed xx to low xxx so not really worth a court case. they owed me a few k, was very grateful to both you and Deiz for putting their names on your blacklists at the time btw. gracias for that sincerely I sued 'em in small claims through a US law firm after they made it clear they would not be living up to their debts owed. to me or anyone else. only found out like a year later that this wasn't the first time they'd done this apparently. day before our court date one of the owners agreed to settle in full. INCLUDING court costs, skip trace and lawyers fees. which is more than I actually expected. so grateful to my lawyer for that, she had to talk me into demanding that to settle the other party needed to pay for all that. I'm conservative when it comes to risk, would have honestly settled for just the amount owed had she not pushed me to demand the extra costs. know it's not always economically feasible/prudent for peeps to fight back, but there is something so wrong about letting someone get away with crap. at the time everyone but my partner and one cammer tried to talk me out of it. said it wasn't worth the hassle and expense. in my limited, anecdotal experience it was. yeah took a bunch of time but allowed me to make a fresh start with no residual anger. I don't let go of things easily though |
why even go over shit like that?? call doctor phil :2 cents::2 cents:
|
uh, cuz I was pissed off and what happened was wrong and I threw money at the problem (to my lawyer) so I wouldn't stew over it. like I wrote, not easy for me to let go of things, with a different personality I may have made a different choice
point is I got everything owed to me, with all expenses reimbursed and Phil is not a licensed psychologist. |
fuck me, can't believe I have a brain barrier about this
I actually have been scammed. by a peer with whom I used to work, she participated in some fraud with a 'client' and got me for just under $300 about 6 months ago I went to bed for a day I was so upset, never expected to be in a confrontational situation with a peer. It was actually a pretty difficult experience for me. not the money but the rest of it In the long run though she taught me a lot and probably prevented a lot of further fraud down the road, as the experience taught me what to look for. for that consider 3 bills a pretty inexpensive lesson. She was an idiot as well, a bunch of my own dudes loved her and spent on her pretty regularly, when I kicked her off and told em why she lost far more that she gained. didn't change me or my approach to peeps, just taught me what to look for in both client and cammer behavior but yeah, lol I guess it's good thing I had forgotten about that incident. at the time it was...not fun |
Classic con artist swindle -- never.
Business fraud and inside job scams plenty. Most of the time, on inside jobs, we are still holding the money on business fraud deals -- so the scammer is the one that get scammed :2 cents: Never sees their money. |
I have never been scammed since I am an extremely cautious person.

Someone just tried to scam me out of $500 because she thought I was in Colorado and not in the same town as she was. My wife had a friend/coworker (Sheriff's Deputy) in a vehicle escort me to her house. That was enough for her to make a trip to the ATM and pay me on the spot.

mmm, two years or so, $300 from a content "buyer" :S

Scammers
Watch the movie House of Games. Best movie of how you can be scammed.
I live with the world's greatest liar & my best friend is the second best liar. Otherwise they are wonderful people. I just know anything they tell me is possibly a lie. My best friend told so many lies that when his 2 year-old son was burnt in a freak fire, I hung up on him, calling him a liar. Front page of the newspaper was the story. His son had been in a fire. Problem with scammers, they can mix truth and fiction so good you never know. My girlfriend once in a sentence contradicted herself in the same sentence. But it's fun to watch her scam. At a party, all she needs is a guy's 1st name and within 5 minutes can convince him they used to date. I once had to stop her before I got fired, as my supervisor's wife was giving the look of, "you never told me about her." |
The entire time I was an OC cash, OC modeling, porn star platinum and Lords of porn

I've only scammed myself a good deal of times ...

I've only ever been credit card scammed when I left my card on a bar one night and didn't realize I lost it until 2 days later... And that was roughly 3 going on 4 months ago.
