Any Godaddy.com Experts Here?

on 3/25/03 i registered 7 domains with godaddy, and switched the DNS to my favorite host.

The DNS still has not updated? How long does it usually take?

http://www.smokinteens.com is one of them

also, i went into my acct, it says the domain is active, then has a link for me to "Lock The Domain"

whats that about?

Thanks.

locking means it wont let anyone change the records.

And make sure your host has updated their dns... that may be the trouble

Mine have always worked in 12 to 36 hours. Sure you have the right DNS info and the domain names set up on your host?

yes, i coppied it from the host FAQ site.

The host is revshare.

One odd thing, i noticed on godady when i went to add the dns, it had 8 textboxes but i only had 2 nameservers.

Think that can be a problem?

stocktrader23 03-28-2003 06:58 PM

Nope. Most hosts only give you 2 and that's fine.

lil2rich4u2 03-28-2003 06:59 PM

well its been more than 72hrs, guess i can only wait some more, heh

stocktrader23 03-28-2003 07:00 PM

NS1.REVSHAREHOSTING.COM
NS2.REVSHAREHOSTING.COM

That's what whois has so it's updated. Must be a problem with revshare.

Still a 404..... If it is a 404 then the DNS is pointing at a host.....

Pretty convinced it is a server issue.... dont you have to do some sort of "sync" with revsharehost?

I take it they are new domains?

You would normally only have 2 nameservers BTW

yes they are new domains.

No you dont have to synch the domains, just uploaded files.

thewebgarage 03-28-2003 07:27 PM

I always look up a domain 24 afters after I change the dns. at

nsiregistry.com

Apache/2.0.44 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.44 OpenSSL/0.9.6b DAV/2 PHP/4.3.1 Server at www.smokinteens.com Port 80

that's what i get... it's working, just something is rather fux0red. i've had this problem before, can't remember how it was fixed, i just told tech support to do it because i was lazy :)

lil2rich4u2 03-28-2003 07:31 PM

problem solved

aparently when i added them, i added it in all caps

he said he will go into all 5 servers and make aliases for me sometime this evening.

Thanks guys.
