Suprised they would target Turkey, since Turkey stabbed us in the back

MattO 03-28-2003 03:08 PM

It's going to Greece to pick up some gyros.

then on to france?

Theo 03-28-2003 03:17 PM

hehehe probably.

The airplane has turkish politicians inside.

Simon-interaid 03-28-2003 03:18 PM

If the hijackers were kurds, then Turkey will probably move in its forces to northern iraq and all hell is going loose.

nemesis 03-28-2003 03:31 PM

THey say the hijacker speaks turkish very well, and does not have south east accent. It seems like he is not kurdish and they say they don't expect any terrorist motive behind this act.

Uh, you mean besides hijacking a plane?:eek7

Sly_RJ 03-28-2003 03:35 PM

Eh. So how did this guy take control of the plane? Using the pointy end of a lolipop?

Gee... it appears terrorism doesn't only happen in the United States. Who woulda thunk it?

Bad Americans. Bad.

Hijacking a plane does not make you a terrorist unless you have some political reasons. It should not be to hard to figure that out.

Hello?
The passengers of that plane have no idea why they were hijacked, where they are going, or even if they're going to survive.
That's terrorism, dipshit.

Motivation doesn't matter. He hijacked the plane and as such is terrorizing the people inside of it (as well as people on the ground who are worried he's going to fly it into them).

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH save me from brainless idiots!!!!!

Theo 03-28-2003 03:45 PM

its not confirmed yet if they are kurdish, we'll see.....fueling started few min ago and will finish in 10min.

nemesis 03-28-2003 03:54 PM

One of the guys in the plane just called the tv station from his cellular. He says the hijacker is in the cockpit.

Theo 03-28-2003 03:55 PM

no big surprise, Germany won't allow it to land, but I have a feeling the plane will fly there nomatter what.

Another thing,so far there's only one hijacker that is with the pilots and he said there are 3 more inside the plane. This is not confirmed though. Let's hope nothing bad will happen.

Of course they won't accept it but the question is what they are going to to do if the plane crosses the border. Seems the hijackers' target is Berlin. Weird....

AFAIK Germany passed a "shoot down if necessary" law just a few months ago .... (due to 9-11)

Why it is so hard for you to understand to difference.

If i hijack a bus because i made a bet with my friends, does that make me a terrorist?

The guy is still on the phone with the tv station, he says there is only one hijacker at the plane and he is in the cockpit. He says the hijacker told them that they will head to the Berlin.

Theo 03-28-2003 04:06 PM

i'm afraid we are going to experience more such events in the near future.

FATPad 03-28-2003 04:09 PM

Take away the Turk's guns. They have too many guns. What's wrong with them Turks that everyone has to have a gun and make the society violent? This wouldn't happen in places where everyone doesn't own a gun like Euro....hurm...nevermind.

AHahahahahahaha.... Ok, the board now has a terrorist bot. Please tell me these posts are not originating from a brain.

Theo 03-28-2003 04:22 PM

latest news,

the hijacker is kurdish that requests the freedom of some kurdish relatives he has and they are in a prison in turkey.

the airports in germany are closed during night due to the war event, so there's a chance the plane to remain in athens.

i'll order gyros for 303 people

FATPad 03-28-2003 04:22 PM

Actually, I have to agree with Nemesis.

Just hijacking a plane doesn't make you a terrorist, anymore than committing a murder makes you a terrorist.

*shrugs* I guess it boils down to what you consider a "terrorist". I always assumed it meant someone who was using terror to further or bring notice to a political goal or something similar, not everyone who committed a crime.

btw, this doesn't rule out this is a terrorist hijacking. I have no idea. But I don't think simply hijacking a plane makes you a terrorist.

well said. It is terrorism if you are doing it for ideological or political reasons. But this is to complicated for some people.

nemesis 03-28-2003 04:32 PM

The guy is an idiot. He took the cellular of a passenger and made a call and then returned the phone. Than, the owner of the phone reported the number he called to the authorities.

Maybe if the Turks would cut the Kurds some slack this never would have happened. This is what they get.

He does not have explosives. When he was getting to the plane security guys asked him what are those candles for, and he said he is bringing them as a gift to someone. Now, he says they are c4 explosives. bullshit. And also, tv says he has mental problems.

TrafficTeam 03-28-2003 05:19 PM

let's wait and see when a Jet gets up to resolve this Problem :Graucho

nemesis 03-28-2003 05:30 PM

Another passenger from the plane called the tv station, and she said the hijacker told them that his mother and sister are in Germany.

Simon-interaid 03-28-2003 07:04 PM

it seems this is now over.

THe hijacker was a 20 year old that couldn't go to germany to see his father so he hijacked a airplane to go to Germany to see his father.
