50 Cent?s ?P.I.M.P.? was one of his biggest singles off his massive debut album, Get Rich Or Die Trying, but a recent lawsuit is alleging that the beat for the song was stolen.
According to TMZ, producer Brandon Parrott sent 10 tracks to Dr. Dre back in 2001 in hopes that the beats would be used by one of his artists. Parrott didn?t hear anything back until 2003, when a producer with Dre?s Aftermath Entertainment called and said that the beat from Parrott?s ?BAMBA? ended up on ?P.I.M.P.? At the time, the producer reportedly said no one had any idea his song would end up on the final version. So, Parrott agreed to sign a settlement deal as a result.
However, Parrott is now claiming that in light of some recent interviews, he believes 50 and Dre?s Aftermath did know, and were lying to him before. Because of this new knowledge, he?s suing both 50 Cent and Dr. Dre for a cut of the profits from ?P.I.M.P.? The amount of the suit, however, is not known at this time.
