Any affiliate in Canada who receive payout by check should read this!
My Father in Law work for over 18 years for Canada Post and he have mention to me : at the end of the month, a 9 month strike could kick in.....
All in all, it will happen...... Remember this ? https://www.thestar.com/business/201...nion-says.html anybody else heard of this ? :pimp |
things in the economy this year aren't looking good for most businesses.

where I live mail delivery is seriously an average of 3 months, one of the few things i miss about ca is the postal system
"...While Hamilton refused to discuss any of the issues at the bargaining table, he said the company’s goal is to get a deal that’s “fair for employees, but respects the environment we are working in and the needs of our customers.” The union says Canada Post is seeking concessions on many fronts including benefits, job security and pensions, including switching new hires to a defined contribution plan from the current defined benefit plan." moving from DBP to DCP is one of the main ways both public and private sector employers fuck over their people. At least this proposed move isn't forcibly switching current peeps from one to the other but still, props to the union for fighting this |
Won't happen.
Postal service is an essential service. They'll get a special law in the ass and will be back at work the next day if they do it. |
Thanks for the info!

Who still gets cheques? We haven't sent cheques out to affiliates for over 1-1/2 years. No one complained.
But, online shopping will get harder without CanadaPost. |

vs DBP, which is filled with issues... like... what happens when the company goes out of business? How much does employer need to contribute each pay period, 10%? 15%? how can we even calculate it? The answer is we can't... we can't predict how long people will live in 30 years, we have no idea what return there will be on the invested funds, etc... so the whole setup is just asking for drama down the road... :2 cents: |
