My sister requested that I get something for my niece for her bday. I was shocked when I saw the price. I said hell no I'm not buying that. Who would pay what they want for this piece of crap...seriously though!

For whatever reason amazon allows third party sellers to price an item for any price. Never trust pricing unless it's directly sold by Amazon. I don't know why they allow this.

Because it's a free marketplace and could also be considered price-fixing?

If it's too expensive on Amazon, pick any one of 50 other online vendors. Amazon is not an e-commerce monopoly.

amazon prices are fair. It's the third party sellers that often are not. Amazon has an item for 29 bucks. A third party seller has the same item for $150. Some gullible consumers might get fooled into buying at these rip off prices I often wish I could filter out non amazon sold items because of this.

Choose your words carefully. Things aren't always as they seem.

There's a filter in their search results to only show items sold by Amazon.

So stupid they allow this, here is a book listed for $4,900+

It damages their reputation though. Most people see amazon, $10 product, close to $100 price, and they say fuck amazon, not understanding the reseller thing.
