'A California antispam bill passed the Senate on Wednesday, a first step toward the passage of a law that would give people the right to sue spammers. .........Under current law, only a city attorney, district attorney, the state Attorney General and ISPs can go after spammers in court.'
whee this should be fun to watch I live in California, time to look closer at my spam hehe |
How come spam is illegal but the mail box full of junk mail I get is fine lol.
|
What a joke. California should get a clue. That law won't do shit.
|

and how come I can get unsolicited phone calls.. every day and night??? I't much easier to hit delete on a keyboard than to get a telemarketer off of hte damn phone!!!:thumbsup |
I asked the post orrifice about stopping the un-wanted mail in my box and they told me that they had to deliver it, because someone had paid postage on it.
I know that e-mail is a lesser included thing in your connection to the net, but either way you look at it you paid to send the e-mail. I DO NOT condone it, but it is a really shitty thing that the government is doing chasing the internet spammers ( Adult ) is the way they always seem to look, and not messing with the people that are killing trees for mail that most people trash anyway. When was the last time a BYTE tree died for an e-mail?? Maybe we sould look at stopping the things that will destroy our planet first, and just use the delete button until that is controlled. |

and finding out who dunnit is pretty easy with: www.arin.net everyone has to have an IP and if i can catch 1/10th of them, i'll still be making $5000 a day! |
As long as there's people buying products that are being spammed there will be spam. Plain and simple.
|
if somebody tried to defend CP and say they weren't involved in CP,I think we'd all say they were full of shit right?... Look at this thread and apply it to spam :glugglug

smart move for those dubmass legislators.... move that business offshore and increase the lost business in ligigation jobs/fees.....oh boy, smooth thinking CA.... Open up an offshore hosting and inc package and clean up on the SWOSH of spam operations moving offshore.... how dumb can they get.... and yes, I totally agree.....MAIL spam kills trees, my phone ringing is more intrusive....go after that THEN worry with email spam |
someone in say ohio be ordered to pay a californian in a california court if he doesn't show up in court?
Depends on how the law is written. Ohio has a law that should be going in soon that THEY will prosecute spammers as well as hunt you down... $3k PER spam that is forwarded to them by Ohioans. Adult spammers will get hit the hardest but they also will be shutting down mainstream as well. Don't show up for court? Oops, plan on your Fed tax returns being short until you're square. lol Or worse. Of course the state keeps the 3k. But they are afterall funding the trackdown of the spammer. Don't think that a state can't track down most spammers... they will be going after the sponsor with supeonas. :winkwink: On snail spam and telemarketers? YES there are ways to shut them down without a telezapper. We get very little snail spam but having a business number listed keeps new telemarketers on us constantly. As soon as the Fed telemarketer kill list goes active in a few months, we should be able to stop that as well. :1orglaugh |

This is real simple: 1) setup offshore IBC 2) host offshore how they gonna deal with that? how are they gonna deal with the lost income in the US? now that it's all gonna be moving offshore? I agree some limiitations and regulation needs to happen, but get real people.... |
This will work out well. On day one there could be tens of thousands of complaints filed, clogging up the court system. That would be fun to watch.
|
Open up an offshore hosting and inc package and clean up on the SWOSH of spam operations moving offshore....
You guys crack me up!! This will get you zip, zero, nadda... 0. Unless you hand in your citizenship to the US as you board the plane. US Citizen breaks US law on the moon? Ker clang goes the bars. Got that? Offshore is useless if you missed something in that sentance. And trust it will get even tighter doing Net business. |
Id rather beat the fuck out of Junk Mailers and Telemarketers first.
Spam I can delete with one push of a button. |
