wow im so excited i went and bought a pound of custard and ate it raw!

I hope for you guys that this doesn't turn out to be what I'm afraid of - cp storage space for surfers. Some of the surfers who want to cover their tracks may have very good reason for that... Might be dangerous to let them store stuff you haven't provided yourself :2 cents:
(and no, I am not implying that ars has anything to do with cp or wants anything to do with it. rather, I'm implying that there are quite a few pedo surfers who'd abuse such a service) |
I was kind of curious about this when I got the email from ARS about this.
Why would a paysite program encourage file sharing? Paysite owners are the ones always bitching about how much free shit there is on TGP's. At least the TGP's have ads on them, if you download videos through a file sharing program you dont' even have to look at banners. What gives? |
wonderfuckingful
:glugglug |
i wonder how much this costs per month ...
normal total port price for 100megs and 1 email account (instead of 250megs and 10 email accounts) is 9.95/month.....i wonder how much this ARS partenership will rise the bill... |

I'm glad the word is getting out ;)
greenlab, I was curious how you knew of TotalPort prior to this promotion/marketing arrangement? Lenny2, let me make it clear that TotalPort is not a "file sharing" program. TotalPort sends a secure link to the email address of who you want to share the file with. Then that person goes to the link and downloads the file. That is it. It is a cool feature that allows you to share larger files than email usually allows. It is very limited and you can only send the link to one person at a time. So, you will not see a huge amount of material all of the sudden available for free on the Internet. If you have questions, just let me know. |
Why do you feel the need to include any file-sharing in this product at all? Is there any type of file you are targetting with this other than copyrighted adult content?
|
gothweb, email, ftp, websites, etc are ALL file sharing programs.
it is simply a matter of functionality. |
"while keeping their stuff safe online " :1orglaugh :1orglaugh thats funny

if this is a new program that is just launching how do you already have the statistics that show 1:125? Is this one conversion someone that works for ARS that was just testing out the signup process and the other 124 hits where they were testing out various links and stuff or have they legitimately found some "new" way to make money from the porn world? :1orglaugh

i found it trough google....was looking for a solution to get all my emails in one place (have more that 10 :) ). The product is a very good ideea..however it has some disadvantages : 1. if you already have a domain name, you can not transfer it to TotalPort 2. They give you a domain registred trough Register.com, so after the first year you will be charged by Register com about 20$/year for the domain registration. Unfortunately, you can not change the registrars...witch is something i dont like |

greenlab, thanks for the info...we are working on some of the "disadvantages" you spoke of. For example, the registrar issue, and transferring domains. Those are obviously top priorities.
If you're interested hit me up and i'll see what I can do to give you a trial or something. dchottie, "GigaNames - Your last stop for everything domain." doesn't come up for me. Is that your gig? Whoever owns the domain lives in Noble, OK. Are you going to watch the Sooners tonight? I graduated from OU, and I am a huge Sooner fan! |
