5,000 children die every year in Iraq while Saddam builds himself palaces

We want to stop this

Don't complain that we accidentally hit a market in Iraq when we will be saving many more lives in the end.

Before you respond, read the thread title again.

EDIT: I'm not saying this single point should make you change your opinion about the entire war. I'm just saying don't complain if a few kids die, when you know less will die in the long run due to our actions.

ok, you changed my mind.

Well done.

So I guess you would rather 5000 children die of starvation every month in Iraq than a few get killed in this war and then it's over. Learning things about you tonight....

How many Americans actually care about these Iraqi people? Compared to, say, the people any other African country? (Sudan, Liberia etc)

Would you take these people in yourself? Would you feed and clothe them yourself? Do you really care about the welfare of these people that much, or is it as much as a gimmick as you claim protests are for the anti-war crowd?

Or is it really just simple rationalisation for this war?

Be honest. I'm interested.

Personaly I dont belive that. What you said was douring the first Gulf war but that old man has changed a bit. He needs army to make shure that people who are against him are not going to cause much problem. You wana know why Mr. Bush went to war? He wants to pay back for his father who couldnt handel it and now Junjor wants to show that he can... and ofcourse US wants that oli...
I say it because people understand things in a worong way, not because Im against war (actually I like wars)

... ouh, and about these weapons of massdestruction.... If he had them he would have allready used them because now its to late. If he uses them now he would wipe out the whole Bagdad witch Im bretty shure that he wount.
Dont get me wrong, but what I think, that all these terrible saings are to justify that war.

PS. Dont get angry of these writeing mistakes... english is my second language.

actually I think I would...I hate most people but when it comes to somebody whos obviously worse off than I'll ever be,I'm always ready to give a hand... I think there's a lot of people that would do the same, especially for children, but theres a lot of legalities and money you have to go thru just to get the people over here

Find me an easy way to get a starving mother and her baby over here and I'd take them in.... and I'm a fuckin dickhead! :glugglug

Thousands of people die of starvation every day in african nations.

What makes an african life worth less than an Iraqi, an American or an Australian life. They are all people with family and friends, and dreams for the future.

The problem is that most people are sheep and believe people are more important based on how much coverage they get in the media.

I do not consider the Iraqi citizens my best friends. None the less, I think it's pretty easy to say that I don't condone a militant dictator spending money on his Ba'ath party/military, instead of on his own people in poverty.

So your country will be liberating all the other Africans living under dictatorships then I assume?

digi 03-27-2003 02:52 AM

The us government has done a good job transforming this into a war for the iraqi people instead of a war against weapons of mass destruction.
