Explosions Heard in Kuwait City

Whoa...on Fox News now. The correspondant ignored the alarm and didn't put his gas mask on...until he heard the explosions.

EDIT: Perhaps not...the guy said he heard 5-6 "concussive explosions" but now they're getting the all clear signal.

pr0 03-27-2003 01:47 AM

not seeing it on the other channels...

Shooter 03-27-2003 01:48 AM

The reporter's just saying they heard like 5 impacts.

They're sounding the all clear siren now though.

It was the guy on Fox talking live, giving an update...then all the sudden he heard blasts and turned around. Caught it at a good time (right during a Fox live broadcast from Kuwait City).

Could be a false alarm, but he was definitely flipping out.

ChrisH 03-27-2003 01:49 AM

All clear now.

Ace-Ace 03-27-2003 02:15 AM

Fox just reported the explosions were the Patriot missle system intercepting 2 incoming missles. The debris did no harm.

sacX 03-27-2003 02:17 AM

probably hamming it up for the cameras :)

Haha, hardly...he was pissing his pants. Turning around every few seconds in a shaky voice "Uhhh, uhhh...explosions here, not sure what they are, uhhh"...frantically reaching for his gas mask once he heard the explosions.

I remember when the sirens first came on I thought "why isn't this guy putting on his mask? All the other correspondants do when this siren comes on". Then he hears the explosions...and his mask is on within seconds, lol.

I didn't know the 502nd was reflagged to the 173rd.
I had a SGM who was in the 173rd in Vietnam. Those are some crazy motherfuckers! Embedded reporters will be saving Iraqi lives LOL.

Probably just a hoax.... (maybe)

No, if you were watching...you would have seen the panic in his eyes. Read my previous post, it was a Patriot shooting down an incoming Iraqi scud.

PersianKitty 03-27-2003 02:28 AM

The Sky Pilots were reactivated in June 2002 in Italy. Since then they've had deployments in Bosnia, Kosovo, Hungary, Tunisia, Morocco, Germany,
Italy, and the Czech Republic.... now Iraq.

The 173rd as a rich history.

I don't know your exact viewpoints on this...but the bullshit JUST like that is what is wrong with humanity. Can you NOT accept the fact that there was a missle attack (defended)? Do you have to say it's a "hoax" and attempt to form a conspiracy.

CONSPIRACISTS: Every single one of your "theories" are proven wrong with facts, sorry.

Ace-Ace 03-27-2003 02:31 AM

Haha...some Iraqi "military" personnel just surrendered to Oliver North's (Fox correspondant) producer.

sacX 03-27-2003 02:32 AM

I didn't see this.. so i'm not commenting on whether he was doing it.

But just as an aside my girlfriend works for a newsroom and they've been telling their reporter in Kuwait to look more worried, and when he sends in file footage have scenes of him running to put his gas mask on etc.

Perhaps this is true...that's part of the media. They want you to watch their channel, so they try to add more drama/action.

This guy truely was shitting his pants though...he appologized for flipping out, and was a bit short of breath.

Ace-Ace 03-27-2003 02:45 AM

"Possibly some debris following in a neighborhood here", says the Fox correspondant. Two explosions heard...it'll be interesting to see exactly what happened.
