did i read somewhere vw is making a new one?

They never stopped, they just didn't import them to the US. Although the newer ones were more like regular front wheel drive mini vans and not that great off road like the 81-91's. I think they are doing a electric one that's supposed to come to the US, but don't think it will be a vanagon replacement.

i'm a fan of the gt-r.

the tech and the styling and the level of performance is impressive.

although, in my age bracket, the new cadillac ats-v coupe is more my style, and it's loaded with gobs of tech, perf, and style!
