Calling out all TGP/ MGP Owners & all other Webmasters, I need your input please.
 

I'm editing my fresh Spring Break 2003 footage now and building hosted galleries and also cutting up promo vids.

Concerning hosted galleries:

How many seconds long for each clip and how many clips per gallery do you think is best? (1 longer clip or several shorter, or some of each and more of any certain kind?)

Would you prefer and what do you think is best: clean, aggressive, or very aggressive designs in concerns to click thrus? (or some of each and more of any certain kind?)

Would you prefer and what do you think is best: pic only, pic and movie, or just movie galleries? (or some of each and more of any certain kind?)



Concerning promo vids that you would host:

I prefer wmv but i know some of you are anal and prefer mpegs. So what I want to know is how many seconds long do you prefer the clips and what is your target file size you prefer for mpeg1?

(or some of different lengths and more of any certain length?)

Please also lets get a tally going on who is ok with .wmv files.

Also any other input and/or requests please post so I can accommodate you all.

i like the 3 or 4 clips at 30 secs each.
.wmv is ok, but we do prefer mpg.
shemp caters to high speed surfers anyway, so i dont care how big the clips are :)

I like 20 second clips, 30 second clips are too friendly for those losers out there that bust a nut in 25 seconds.

Make them watch a 20 second clip & then reload, less chance of them busting a nut & switching over to ESPN.com

Just out of curiosity, WHY do you (and many others that list movie galleries) prefer MPEGs over WMV? Quality? Compatibility? Because if it's quality, I would think wmv is still the better choice, considering you get MORE video length per clip since compression is much better than mpeg. And as far as compatibility, well... mostly everyone is on a Windows machine anyway, so at least 80% of your surfers have a Windows Media player.

Thoughts?

single embedded vids are great as well,

as for how many on regular gal... make it about 4 30s or 2 per 1min

Concerning the embedded vids, would you prefer them to not play automatically and have them on the 1st gallery page?

or embed each one on a second gallery page and have them auto play?

Damn, 4 x 30 seconds or 2 x 1 minute..MPEGS???
I feel like Rip Van Winkle....I still do 6 x 10 second WMV's on movie galleries.

Where can I find those? I need a free nut.
