As a general rule however, youtube doesn't pay shit unless you have a lot of subscribers / views. I've made about $9k with them over the course of several years, 4 million views and 86k subscribers. Averaged roughly $300 a month.

BUT, my channel is more valuable than most because outside of their ad program, I can sell my audience courses, which is something that at current #'s can make me anywhere from $300-$1k per promotion.
