Is NIGHTSURF abusing CYBEREROTICA and other TRADEMARKS?
When I search for
cybererotica adult check karas adult.com on http://search.msn.com and many many more I get: You have entered a search term that is likely to return adult content. Click here for search results on 'adult.com' at NightSurf.com NightSurf.com is an independent adult search service. Warning: If you are under 18 or live in an area where it is illegal for you to view explicit content, please revise your search. Are they abusing trademarks? |
yes these guys are con artists
whether you search for blacks on blondes, Angels of Porn, Cyber erotica...alll take you to ifriends..it's totally untargetted and robbing people of their brand names..msn needs to can these idiots |
Nightsurf is run by ClickCash/IFriends and they have purchased any spots of that type. So while it is shitty, they are at least paying for it in accordance with the SE rules, not stealing it like common thieves.
:2 cents: |
But why did MICROSOFT sell them trademarked keywords.
I don't understand it. |
It's a way for ninemsn to keep an arms length from
adult, while still get paid per click by Webpower. |

You'll find the same result from 'adult sex' as 'adult.com'
Once adult terms are typed in and you are passed to Nightsurf, it ceases to be a SE and becomes just an Adult portal. |
thats for sure!
|
Some lawyer should stop this trademark abusing.
|
Ah, I wondered why they never answered my ad rate queries. All becomes clear.
|
These is just a bunch of stupid abusers.

The only thing I find odd is that so many didn't know about this especially when the guy starting the thread considers himself a bit of an SE guru :)
|
No, you are only abusing a trademark if you are using it to sell a similiar product, with the intent to deceive.
Note the qualifier, "Click here for search results on 'adult.com' at NightSurf.com." They do not say there will be content, just that you can look for other content on Nightsurf. Can't blame them, if I had that much money I would do the same damn thing. |

I don't see anything wrong with it. For example, what if i had a mainstream website, and i only dealt with mainstream searches? That is, there are no adult results within my index. Should i just show them a page saying "no results"
Or should i send the surfer to a page that actually has something somewhat relevant, AND get paid for it? You can bet your ass i'd do it. Some of you people need to stop bitching. |
