I found my SS# in an online database for fake identities

Ever Google your SS# and see what comes up?

I just found mine for sale as a fake identity for a female WTF?

I checked my credit and nothing unusual, including alternate names etc.

What else do you do?

If it does not match other pertinent information about yourself, can anything really be done with it? It's a 9 digit number, we can make up random 9 digit numbers all day long that would match somebody's Social Security number. Without the matching personal info, is it really worth anything?

What Sly said... :2 cents:

Its a bit like me telling you that your PIN number is displayed at the end of THIS LINK & indeed it is :upsidedow

Does GFY still prevent you from posting your own SS#?

Edit: yep looks like they do

It's a mis-information site that takes real world data, then mashes it up and spits it back out so the crawlers grab corrupted data along with good data that it mines from websites :)

It's fake on purpose to try to stop real thieves from Googling someone's identity... :2 cents:

Not a bad idea actually. Picking a pin between say 4 and 6 numbers would massively increase possible combinations. I guess the thumbprint will replace the pin soon enough though

You gotta stop dropping your wallet in the beach bathrooms in Redondo.

you can freeze your credit with all 3 bureaus so any time you or someone using your SSN applies for credit you'd have to manually unlock it to let the business pull it

Here's mine: 696-69-6969
