Members Area Upsells: How Many?

Since I am implementing a new custom CMS for my 80+ Members Areas I thought it best to ask those in the know. You know, the marketing experts here at GFY. :)

How many upsells should a Members Area display? Or rather, how many ads to put in rotation? Too many and it will take forever to reach payout minimums; too few and there's not enough variety. So what is the "sweet spot" for how many ads (upsells) to display in a Members Area? Maybe some traffic brokers can chime in, too.

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup

The approach that worked well was to select 10 - 12 sites, offering some variety, always include a recommendation, short write up.

I wouldn't add any sites that are directly competing with each other, more like one per theme.

You don't want to make this too confusing, also want to be able to see what theme / niche brings sign ups and which not.

If you can get a coupon or custom join option for your members, the community appeal may help. In any way I'd stress that these are proven sites that you can vouch for.

Wouldn't necessarily go with the big names, or if, then with some lesser known more unique sites. A mom and pops CCBILL site with amateur touch can in many cases easily outperform a saturated mega site.

Wouldn't promote trials / cross sells either. Adding some online shop / cams never harms.

Hit me up if you'd like some sponsor recommendations.

1 Run it for 90 days and try another. Overwhelm them with choices and they wont make a choice.

Thank you for this info! I am going over the ads today and think I will reduce them to around 12 for now and see how they perform. :) Also, the problem I have now is too many Sponsors. LOL

That's about how long I have given it so far and realize I need to make an adjustment. Overwhelming is not good. :)
