Disturbed "The Sound Of Silence"
This is one of the most awesome covers i have ever seen.
That is just done to perfection. Can listen to that over and over. |
so far i think i'm the only one who thinks it's terrible... I don't dislike disturbed, or his voice. I just think the song sounds lifeless when he does it.

It would be better if it were silent. He doesn't do anything for the song.

Yeah isn't it amazing when modern bands are handed an actual song with an actual melody and actual meaningful words?

Interestingly this song was recorded and didnt hit at all...S&G had been broken up for a year when the song started getting airplay on a Boston station.
The record company then got interested and added guitar and other instruments with studio musicians and released it as a single (thinking that the sound worked for the yardbirds and that S&G could be another Yardbirds) . Simon was living in England and got a call that his song was #1 in the USA and he had no idea what the caller was talking about....when he found out he called art and they got back together and performed it live (ed sullivan I think but that may be wrong) Before the show Paul Simon insisted on showing the guitar player how to play it correctly not knowing that this was the guitar player that was the studio musician that wrote and recorded the guitar track for the song.......After telling Simon he knew how to play it and explaining who he was....they performed it without a hitch and it went on to be their biggest hit. My brain is stuffed with useless info like this....all that said I like Disturbed but the original is way way better |

Son you disappoint. :D |
I'm curious. Exactly how much crack does one have to smoke until this sounds even remotely good? Because I've smoked quite a bit of crack and it still sounds like shit.

You could also try a meth/coke/heroin cocktail but results vary. (A fifth of Jack Daniels straight no chaser is also a possibility.) |
That's how a song should be covered,...1 take;) |
