WM8 -> WM9... any reason to switch..?
hey all... k, we have been using WMV version 8 for all video media on one of our sites for quite a while now, ever since WM8 went beta (we still use the command-line driven .exe to encode) and have not had any issue or problem w/ it. i know that M$ released the real WM9 package not too long ago, complete w/ a snazzy GUI on top of it... i could care less about the GUI, but am wondering what has been changed between WM8 and WM9. is there any reason to switch to WM9, and any reason not to?
i remember reading something about M$ implementing certain 'features' in WM9 that are tied to their master plan to combat piracy (Digital Rights Management system?)... what, if anything, is the difference between these two formats? any insight would be appreciated... thx all..!
