Movies in Paysite Previews?
 

You think it's a good idea to place short clips in previews for a paysite? Im thinking of doing this, although it may cost me alot of money in badnwith.. what do you guys think?

It kills alot of bandwidth, but i like to use them. Atleast it gives the potential customer a preview of what their about to purchase. People like to try, before they buy...

OK I need more responses on this from other paysite owners..

Here's a quick bit of stats from the tours of one of our sites for an hour.

1. /index.php 678 43.86%
2. /celebpost.mpg 316 20.44%
3. /page2.php 303 19.60%
4. /join.php 182 11.77%

It does hurt the bandwidth a little but not nearly as bad as you'd expect. We use large filesize high quality MPEG previews, we are currently integrating our custom java streaming solution to include a copy for dial-up users.

Definetely put preview clips. I guarantee it will help conversions. It's worth the extra bandwidth!
