OneModelPlace fucks up
 

I went in to search for some models at OneModelPlace.com yesterday and discovered that I could no longer search for "Adult" models without upgrading my membership to the next level for an additional $99. I wrote them this:

Problem Description: All of a sudden, I have to be a Gold or Platinum member to search for nude and adult categories? I've been able to do this in the past. I don't think you sell someone a membership at $39.95 and then take its privileges away, at least not without offering a refund due to discontinuing services.

Art Nude and glamour are still listed for silver members, and 95% of all the models that do "nude" have both items checked. So you are not loosing any functionality, We updated our search engine, we have added a lot of new features for the free members and the silver members, we also had to remove the adult search from the silver members, as a hole you can get more information on a model now then before, including city, age range and race. The only features we have removed are ones used by the adult websites.

There will be a lot of other features added for the silver and gold members in the next few months.

If you would like a refund we can also offer this, and can send you 30.00 by check in a few days.

If you would like to upgrade to gold we can offer you the old price for the upgrade 30.00

Well, if you rented a Chevrolet and after a few days the rental company came and took the windshield out and told you you'd have to pay more than double the originaal rental fee to have it back again, what would your opinion of the rental company be? I think I should have that feature back without having to pay ANYTHING extra until my subscription runs out.

Any of you using OMP? What do you think of their new policy?

I stopped using them a while ago. To much crap plus it seemed like every decent model had a pimp to go through.

i have never used them, although with all the unproductive time I waste trying to find models on my own, it probably makes sense.

Your gripe seems reasonable and understandable.

Well, then, surely a free upgrade is "possiible." And then I'll consider paying the additional amount when my subscription runs out. If you have any sense of fair play and honest business operation at all, that seems to be what you should do. Or, since you apparently can send checks, how about a check for the difference between the service I paid to get and the upgrade to the next level?

They seem set in their ways, I would just get the refund or charge it back. Don't waste anymore time on them if you don't want to upgrade. It's not worth ruining your day over....

Thats the truth about the pimp thing . This one girl its says her rates are All 2 hour min: Lingerie/Glamour/Nude $175/hr Swimwear - $150/hr , Casual/Fashion/Sport - $110/hr and it says she is very experienced and I write her and ask for her resume which any model with alot of experience is proud to show. She writes me back with: If you need additional information that my photos do not exhibit please contact my manager . lol

I would not have a problem paying, if the girls would actually reply to emails. But I may get one reply out of every 15 messages I send... :321GFY

You are so in the right on this. I think OMP is a scam six ways from Sunday. I have models who I let use some of the photos I have taken of them for portfolio use. If they had emailed and said hey I want to put some of your photography up on a pay site that won't even give you a membership, I would have said no way. Only OMP pretended to be a portfolio site long enough to get the content and now they are just an overpriced pay site. How many Unseen pix are up on there that they are charging for and now they want MORE $$$ from you!? I swear those OMP people must belong to the unethical ploy of the month club.

Local ads and biz cards work best... I did pay a few times for the "model sites" but haven't had much success... move to a college town

This is probably due to the fact that while it's easy to put up a listing, there appears to be no function for taking one down!

When you want to shoot out of town, OMP was a good place to start. By getting greedy, they are just shooting themselves in the foot.

BTW, I have NEVER had success with a business card. Advertising puts the model in control as long as she wants to be and until she feels confident she's not talking to a jerk or a stalker, which is why it is far and away the best way to recruit.

I'm sure we'll hear from the guy who claims he can talk a girl into anything, but all too often that approach involves a lot of shaving the truth and outright lying, so I prefer to work through ads and be 100% honest with the respondents.

I am sorry $175 is high to just get naked or do lingerie pics. lol Also to say you want that and then have crap pics in your portflio. I could of shot with a girl who shot with Earl Miller for $100 a hour just nudes , she was very nice and had a mountain of experience( I didnt shoot with her because I didnt have enough time in my trip). I agree I found most of those places the flake factor is so high, everyone thinks they are a star. The best results we have gotten is my wife going out on yahoo to recruit and its free lol.

I have had good results here in virginia and the east coast with models replying and Me hiring them. I was about to go there to look if any new ad's but damn NOT going to pay the rape charges either,

Hmmm... there's positives and negatives about different ways to recruit girls... No comment about "shaving the truth"... hahaha.

If I do approach a girl with a card, I start by saying "at the very least please be flattered". Most smile take the card say thank you and I never hear from them again lol.

The way I see it, they must be making $$$, more than some of the biggest adult paysites (without the headaches), and they will continue to get bigger.

Almost exactly what has happened to me. And I even use the "flattered" expression. I think they are flattered to some extent, but most girls just don't want to pose nude or are just fearful that they'll be giving a stalker encouragement by responding in any way...and they would be right if I were a stalker, so advt works best all the way around.

just last week i was going to buy one of their silver or gold memberships because you can't see shit anymore there. So i sent my photographers an email telling them i was going to join and both wrote back fast 'DON'T!'. They don't want any part of it.

But I still might, finding pretty nude models, 18-24, is harder than
most people think. I got 4 test shoots yesterday and damn are these girls dumpy looking. Not even sending them out. So even though OMP is lame if it gets a few models it's worth the money.
