I would have to say that you are wrong.. you don't need the latest laser guided weaponry to destroy a tank.. the palestinians have proved this by destroying a couple of very heavily armoured israeli tanks using home made bombs.. generally tanks have a weak spot - underneath them.. drive over a big bomb and its bye bye tank..

I doubt thats what happened in this case but just pointing out that its possible for iraqis to destroy tanks..

Actually the M1A1 and A2 are very strong underneath its the top of the Abrams that is vulnerable


The abrams tank in its strongest areas has 18 inches of Depleted Uranium Armor the hardest material known to man.

its the same material that is used to manufacture the Sabot Antitank round that it fires it can pierce 4 T-72 tanks side by side befor it stops flying pretty tough shit

in the last gulf war they were found stuck in the side of a M1A1 that was hit with Fratricide it couldnt pierce the M1A1 tank like it could a normal steel tank
