What's Good For sending Newsletters to memebers?

Basically looking to send out a newsletter to paid members, what should I use? Do I need to build a member site, or is there an email program for this? I don't want the information shared otherwise I would just email a PDF file or link to the members.

This is for a mainstream project, trading ideas using my trading method, so adult won't be an issue

I would like to also give the members a free trial, then have the system automatically give them an offer for paid membership. Can you point me in the right direction for this ability? Thanks
