Restricting members bandwidth
 

If I want to restrict members download ability what is the best way to do this?

I am mainly concerned with auto download programs which download the all of the content at once

The Mod rewrite works shit for this issue. Most offline browsers have a masking feature. They come in as IE or Netscape.

A good way to do it is replace all your links with calls to cgi that then call the link or use form tags to link.

This is not 100% but 98%.

Pennywize is able to limit KB downloaded per user I believe, although I never used that feature.

use cookies.

You can use hahahahahahahahahaha, php, perl, c to set your cookie for like 5 minutes.

Some people say it works, some don't.

I'll check that, I know that my pass-protect script writes a cookie and requires j-a-v-as-cr-p-t , but I'll see if I can configure the cookie expiry time
