I still have a copy of "JFK" that I never returned to my local video store/backdoor gambling establishment.

MiamiBoyz 03-24-2016 01:32 PM

I pity the fool who doesn't return vhs tapes!

kane 03-24-2016 01:32 PM

Shouldn't this be a civil matter and not a criminal matter?

Scott McD 03-24-2016 01:41 PM

I think it still have an old WWF video I never returned. Somewhere...

bronco67 03-24-2016 05:37 PM

File this under "dumb ways to utilize your local law enforcement."

But who is actually waiting for the tape to be returned? If you went to the video store now it's probably a hole in the ground or a Starbucks.

SilentKnight 03-24-2016 10:41 PM

Heard about this on the radio today - laughed my ass off.

SBJ 03-24-2016 11:43 PM

beerptrol 03-25-2016 03:24 AM

Nice of Tom to help out

Green told the New York Daily News he would like to put in a good word for Meyers and help the “Freddy” fan with his expenses.

"If it’s 200 bucks of course I’ll pay it for him, just for the principle of the thing,” Green said.

In 1st world countries it is a civil matter :2 cents:

The most interesting thing is that VHS rental still works in 2016... DVD's have gone, Blu-rays are also almost completely dead and only VHS are still alive somewhere in North Carolina :eek7

"Meyers rented the VHS from J&J Video in Salisbury, North Carolina, according to police. "The store has been closed for about 10 years now, if I'm not mistaken,? he said."

Guess warrants last forever. :winkwink:

Saw this - hilarious.

I recall a video we returned a day late to the rental store one time - dropped it in the drop slot by the door. We intended on paying the late fees the next time we rented from the store (which we did on a fairly regular basis).

Two weeks later we got a call from a two-bit, local collection agency telling us we owed the late fee.

We'd never been late with a movie in the past - and I was stunned, to say the least.

I told'em to go fuck himself. We never returned to the store. They went out of business five months later (no surprise).

Helluva business model.
