Saddam's Dead?

In his speech last night he said nothing to establish time, mentioned nothing about recent attacks. Was it taped?

Sly_RJ 03-24-2003 10:49 AM

Is the speech online anywhere? I'd like to check it out.

yes he did.

he specifically mentioned a town that was showing resitance yesterday, or something. But he DID mention a city we were encoutering yesterday or the previous hours before the reports.

Martin 03-24-2003 10:51 AM

He's no longer in Iraq.. He's hiding out in a cave with Bin Laden..

flashfreak 03-24-2003 10:53 AM

Saddam's Dead? .. in your pants

rooster 03-24-2003 10:55 AM

id say hes either dead or wounded. If he was alive he would have 1. done something to establish a time worthy event. shown a newspaper, anything to put to bed rumors that hes dead. 2. would not have passed up the opportunity to mention the pows and how they are mercenaries bla bla. 3. would have said how that suspected chemical factory is really an old folks home or something

He was vague in describing the U.S.-led military campaign aimed at toppling him from power and said nothing that would establish the precise time the tape was made. - MSNBC.

There's a link to it here: http://edition.cnn.com/2003/US/03/24...nce/index.html

I would say that it was taped,

the big problem is, that if saddam is dead or incapacitated, the iraqi troops would probably fight much better than they would with him at the helm

ie; sane people listening better, fighting smarter

remember all the stupid mistakes that hitler made and how he wasted his troops, didn't listen to his generals, becuse he was such a nut case

Giorgio_Xo 03-24-2003 11:02 AM

It looks like it was pre-recorded before the war. Saddam extolls the virtues of the great bravery of the 51st Division. The 51st Division was the first Iraqi division to surrender in the war, some 2,000 troopers. They surrendered without firing a shot.

The video also had alot of jump edits. Frankly, he must have recorded a long speech then it was cut to order.

B40 03-24-2003 11:03 AM

He mentioned Umm Qasar.

But it still could have been pretapped...

I agree... with all of his "press announcements" he could have easily pre-taped several versions citing different dates and or cities. There aren't that many "major" cities in Iraq, so it wouldn't be difficult to throw together a few versions and release the one that seems the most applicable due to the "current state of the war". Just my :2 cents:

Umm Qasr is an important objective... that is a no brainer to call. Miss Chloe could have seen that town.

what did you want a GMT timecode stamp?

he mentioned a city we were fucking with, meaning within the last couple days.

I didnt say they knew exactly when but he did give hint to an area we were engaging, a fairly current time marker.

Exactly. In fact, the main road into Iraq goes right through that villiage. It doesn't take a genious to figure some fighting would occur there.

Plus, the video was edited. How many bad guesses were cut out?

Like the last war, Saddam was planning on going into bunker-hiding mode once things got started. So, he made a few tapes to keep up appearances in the days before.

THANKYOU! I think they are just releasing pre-taped " videos at times where they seem most applicable!!! I don't think the man is dead---he's hiding somewhere.

PornDaddy 03-24-2003 11:19 AM

Sadam, at least one son, and Aziz are all dead.
It obvious do to the fact none of them have
spoke since the initial bombing.

Showing videos does not make any sense.
He has an ego larger than all of ours together.
He would want no one to suspect otherwise.
He would have made sure everyone knew he was alive.

...yeah, laughing that the presidential palace head been blown to bits? He has other palaces, but that was his biggest and main one. I don't think he expected us to go in with the Stealth bomber and do the damage we did in one night.

Playa... I saw your other thread.... I need an address.

Another Memorex Moment:

In the latest tape, Saddam praised a commander for fighting bravely. He was actually among the first to surrender at the beginning. D'OH !!
