Well, the stock market is taking a crap
 

Dow is down over 3% today and still dropping. :(

Ouch....it's just giving back some of it's gains from last week

Perfect time to short stocks, right now. My suspicion is that 5,000 to 6,000 DJIA is achievable within a year/year & a half

Yeah, sucks though. I don't mind it giving up some gains, but the 3% mark is a lot for 1 day.

i haven't checked out cnbc today, but i'm assuming its just profit taking. maybe some concerns that the war won't go over so easy. US$ seems to be a bit weaker today, so there must be some concerns about the war.

Any of you guys around in October '87 when it tanked 25% overnight. Hehehe that was a real eye opener.

And cash money maker for the true pimps that swooped in.

I wouldn't go in the market right now unless I'm shorting. I'd say the real playas will cash in when the market corrects itself at 6,000 or 5,000.

unless something drastic happens, the dow won't see 6k. stocks aren't a value right now overal, but i don't see it dropping that much. most likely to be going sideways for a while.

I agree. The market aint gonna do anything spectacular in 2003.

The market has never had 3 years in a row of decline. Hope history has bearing; my mutual funds have taken enough of a pounding.

When you have the money to do it, just take options. (puts/calls)

Sounds extremely risky compared to slow and steady in equities.
