Am I the only one who does'nt know what to think?
The media has proven distrustful...
The white house is "outraged" that there are American casualties and POW's. http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/03/23/spr...rks/index.html So the media is reluctant to show the footage of American 'setbacks'. When we first started bombing Baghdad, all our news showed was a continuous loop of the city's destruction. Baghdad TV was showing grim photos of civilian casualties, that we did'nt quite see for quite amount of time. Am I the only one feeling like the same "propoganda" that we feel the Iraqies are suckers for is the same strategy used on America to sway public opinion? I was against it, first, and then for it, and now, I'm not really sure what to think. And this is disturbing. I'm extremely bored. |

CNN seems to be reporting very slanted news. I've been leaning more towards BBC for the past 24 hours, they seem to actually report things. CNN was asked to leave Iraq by the information ministry, BBC wasn't.
I was very put off last night by Aaron Brown during that live battle, to paraphrase, "This is better than reality tv". I'm sorry, I don't care if these people are the enemy, or evil, or horrible, they're still people, and they're still dying in front of our eyes.. That isn't entertainment. :2 cents: |
the only news I can seem to get a two sided view out of is cbc newsworld, which is amazing, considering they are very liberal orientated and very opinionatic. BBC is a close second. All major US networks are slanted and propoganda based. The local and national newspapers are a fucking waste of time, thats for sure.

As I have said, it's ok to show bombing of bagdad, ok to show the iraqi prisoners walking in lines, ok to show iraqi corpses
But give them a clip of a captured soldier and look at that "shock and awe" effect in America Is it so hard to understand why most of the world was against the war? |
