what pisses me off about bush
 

ok, firstly this is not an american bashing thread, just a bush bashing thread.

how come:

1) It is fine for Bush to go agains the UN and internationally set rules and start a war with a country
2) It is not fine for the Iraqi's to go against international law and show pictures of POW's

dont get me wrong - im all for toasting a few sand people, but this is way wrong. they should just live with it and not complain.

well, and i bash bush repeatedly myself, he didnt go against the UN and tell them what was what. He used what was already written into the resolutions which said this was the deadline and that force *could* be used if it was not met.

Added: a resolution that was signed almost unanimously i might add.

my mistake :-) anyway he still looks like a monkey!

the more appropriate issue is their treatment of POW's in Guantanamo Bay and getting around the Geneva convention by calling them "unlawful combatants" and holding them outside of the US.

You are not right, the UN had a new Resolution draft that US, UK and Spain refused to vote on. They just decided to Invade Iraq.

Excellent point. Something that is never mentioned in the media.

actually if you look at the facts, france was going to veto that resolution, which is why it was decided to drop it. This is why so many here on GFY were french bashing a week ago =)

there is a thread about everything. in some things that have not happened yet.

seriously though i rely on gfy far too much to keep abreast of current events :-s

France was going to veto the decision to go to war.
UN never adopted that last resolution because they never had a chance - US just started the war. What the point of adopting a resolution after the war has started ?
