DVD's into MPEG

I need some help turning DVD's into MPEG format.
I've never done this and need some help !
what software do i need ?
Is there any tutorial sites & information on
how to do it ?

Honestly, it's all there ....

I use VDV2SVCD for straight forward and Vegas Video for more sophisticated.

no, not all are... the ones i'm buying from Ebay are
fully licensed though.

I use flaskmpeg, virtualdub and tmpegenc.......... but as the other ones say, check out vcdhelp.com it has tons of info and tutorials!
