We are having nearly daily anti-war protests here in Portland (ask Boneprone if you doubt me). Freedom of Speech isn't dead here. And the cops have been generally pretty nice. Of course, if you run around stopping traffic (which might after all have someone being rushed to the hospital) or breaking windows, you have to expect a knock on the head, but we have no soccer stadiums full of political prisoners or ditches full of dead protestors.
