SD 720*576 content to do.....

so how's go now?

What do we do with SD content, as i've loads & want to either put it for sale, make another site or place it on youporn & make money from the hits, which ever, I want to make money from it :thumbsup

I know the quality isn't like what we're filming now, alas, the content that I have is very hardcore, all exclusive & I've loads of it!

What do you do with your SD content, or, what would you do with your SD content if you wasn't using it on your website?

Are people still purchasing good SD content? :2 cents:

Use this program:
https://www.redgiant.com/products/instant-4k/

I used it on all our old SD scenes and brought them up to HD

Here is an example...check out the vid trailer. Originally shot at 720 x 480 https://claudia-marie.com/tour/updat...le-dipped.html
That trailer is a 1280 x 720 that was output by Instant 4K

And yes it can put them out at 1080 and even 4K
I chose 720P because that is a good resolution to stream at.

It takes a lot of time to encode each vid out. I spent a couple of months doing all of our old ones 1 at a time.
But it was worth it.

Sounds an awesome program! Thank you!

So what do you think is best to do with this content? What did you do with yours?

Is the pornhub program worth it? We're considering it atm :2 cents:

If you were trying to rank Google for SD content then this thread might make 1st page.
Alternatively, the overuse of the term SD content might mean you end up on page 1000

DVTimes 03-10-2016 04:40 PM

Bin it. Your content is shit.

We already had all of our SD content on the site already.

So when I upgraded it I simply made announcements within the site to our members that the content had been upgraded to HD.

I would suggest the same to you. Why give your work away to thieves at Pornhub to make money with?

exactly that... his is shit :thumbsup

Mine on the other hand is very hot & with lots of different niche....

now making it clear, maybe on porn hub and clearing money for hits would be best :thumbsup

exactly this.. i've already shown my own members, so maybe for my members to have it again on hd would be stupid... but to show it now for free on pornhub and show it to free lookers & be paid per hit, maybe the best angle :2 cents:

Robbie 03-10-2016 06:20 PM

I would think of it in terms of FUTURE members as well as your current members.

Even the current members may have only been members for a few years. Which means that the old SD stuff didn't look good to them. But with it upgraded to HD that makes it a whole different animal.

That's why we kept it in our members area.

But that's your decision to make. :)

Thanks for the link, will give it a try.

You install it into Adobe Premiere Pro cc 2015

Did you do that already? If so, then you open up the project...go over to video effects. Go to Shooter Suite, choose Instant 4K then apply it to the timeline.

Then go up to the pane up top and choose the setting you want it to be on. You will have several choices of everything from 720 to 1080 to UHD 4K to 4K

Choose one and then render out the video.

rastan 03-11-2016 02:47 PM

Hmm.... Im not convinced TBH. I use a lot of the Trapcode tools on a day-to-day basis, (especially Particular), but converting SD->HD isn't going to make it HD. Despite some clever sharpening algorithms and vectorising techniques like GenuineFractals used to use for stills, it's STILL going to be SD content masquerading.

I'd leave it in there for your members as SD and not bother wasting time and effort changing it if I were you. They'll know its older content and accept it for what it is.
By the time your converted 'pseudo-HD' content is compressed to MP4s for your members, it'll likely look exactly the same as the originals..... except with a bigger file size. No wins there.

Robbie 03-11-2016 03:25 PM

It's not clever "sharpening" with Instant 4K

Maybe you should research first. It actually creates new pixels that are identical to the surrounding pixels.

Technology has changed and it's pretty amazing. I put up the example. Take a look for yourself.

They also have examples on the Red Giant site of going all the way up to 4K from SD.

It definitely looks great and is 100% better than having a tiny sized 720 x 480 file.

As for "wasting time" on it. Our members write us PM's in the members area and they greatly appreciated it and we got nothing but compliments.

I was very happy with the results. I hated that some really, really hot scenes were all in SD and tiny and looked so bad comparatively to our HD scenes.
Now they look great.

so you have to purchase Adobe PP cc first before buying 4k to convert? Is there no other program similar, maybe in a few months, other programs will begin rendering new pixels too :2 cents:

Get the one month free trial of premire.
If you like it, it's about $20 a month.

I'm sure there are plenty of programs out there that do this.

But I'm also very sure that they will all be plugins to one of the handful of major editing software platforms.

I notice this one is a free download Free HD Video Converter Factory - Download

however, is says "convert SD videos to HD video formats with the least loss of quality"

I take it, this doesn't convert the same as the program you're using?

No, it doesn't. If you want to do the job right you have to use the pro stuff to do it.

And I can tell you...you would also need to have a bad ass computer with a Dual Xeon CPU set up AND a good M series Nvidia graphics card for the GPU end of the processing. This is not something you can do on any old computer. It takes a computer that is set up as a post-production unit.

ITraffic 03-12-2016 01:32 PM

less stella for the fella and you will be able to afford it.

We have i5.. it's the fact of purchasing so much, just to change the video into hd, not sure it's going to be worth it for us, but something to consider.

Again, maybe the other option is to show it all on youporn & get paid anyway. It's also advertising :2 cents:

stella? We're in Spain, it's either 'San Miguel' or vino thanks.... although, maybe cutting down on the daily fresh steak & other succulent meat, maybe we could save a couple of euros a week too :thumbsup

An I5 CPU is okay for a lot of things...but video processing isn't really one of them. But it will get the job done, just very slowly.
My I7 980X CPU computer did it. But man it takes a long time.

But as I said, it was worth it to us. We put a lot of time and expense in shooting those SD scenes and they were basically just worthless at that small of a resolution.

But now that they are HD we feel it gives our site much more added value to have a bigger back catalogue of content for our members at a quality that is up to date.

As for putting it on Youporn. That's your decision. I personally would never do that. I think you are devaluing your own product that way.
But that is your decision to make. Not mine. :)

absolutely & thanks...

yes, not going to take the step of filling porn tubes with our content, maybe one or 2 here & there, but yes, going to look at selling the content & maybe converting it. Thanks PN & thanks Robbie :thumbsup
