When it comes to SEO trying to reach a local countries market, do you use country specific domains + translations?

Basically I want an international structure and reach local markets for similar content. I understand I need to avoid duplicate content and will need new link juice for each new domain.

I am just wondering if anyone has specific advise on these setups?

country specific domains are not needed :2 cents::2 cents:

just do domain.com/de or de.domain.com and translate it of course. Set hreflang tags properly and you're set.
