White or Yellow Xanax bars?

My doctor prescribed me a 90 - 2mg Xanax bars a month. I filled the first prescription and the bars were yellow. I just refilled at different mom and pop pharmacy, and the bars are white. I usually only take a quarter of a bar at night to help sleep. The yellows ones make me groggy and really tired the next day. I haven't tried the white ones yet.

Other than the color, is there a difference? I mean they're both 2mg Xanax bars, right?

shiraz9944 02-26-2016 01:13 PM

They have the same active ingredient alprazolam so it will work either way.....but different generics have different binders and fillers which might explain why you felt a bit different. If that happens just go with the original and find out what brand made it teva, or watson etc.... and always ask for those and they will order them for you.

90 Xanax bars in a month...... that sounds like a problem.

shiraz9944 02-26-2016 01:21 PM

not necessarily, some people are actually missing certain neurotransmitters that affect anxiety, though xanax is a VERY short acting benzo that is why he has so many. Klonopin would be better as it lasts 12 hours or valium 15 hours.

A lot of abused children become lifers on benzos because it's the only way they can survive, hopefully a psychiatrist gave you these?

I quit taking Xanax cold turkey about two years ago after taking 14-16mg a day for almost 10 years. Let's just say it wasn't a very pleasant experience. I recently went back to the same doctor for depression, and he prescribed me an anti-depressant along with the same medication I had taken in the past, at the same dosage. I didn't ask for it, but he prescribed it anyway because he said the anti-depressant could possibly cause anxiety and insomnia. The pill bottle says, "Take 3-4 daily or as needed".

Out of the 90 bars, I have probably taken about a bar and a half in little over a month. I have a stockpile of them now. If I was the unscrupulous type, and didn't care about getting arrested, I could make a pretty good chunk of change off them. But I'd rather have them and not need them, than need them and not have. It's only $12 to fill the script, I can always trash them when I get too many.

Totally not judging you, but if you suffer from depression I think there are way better meds to help with this. Also, many natural alternatives work quite effectively. Good luck.

Didn't think you were, brother. I welcome criticism from those whom I respect. I know there are better, natural alternatives. I'm currently looking into those right now. My goal is to not be on any meds within the next six months. :thumbsup

Take some GABA before bed. It wont leave you groggy and stuff like melatonin does.

newB 02-26-2016 02:04 PM

In his grief, Mr Gower accidentally gave you poison, but since George Bailey was never born, he wasn't there to catch the mistake.

shiraz9944 02-26-2016 02:34 PM

that is great rob that you haven't needed to take a ton your first few months, but do keep them because you never know what is in store and with the way the DEA is coming down on docs you might need them later. BTW what anti D did he put you on? Lexapro?

Yep, Lexapro @ 20mg a day. :thumbsup

It's been 4 1/2 weeks and I'm starting to feel the positive benefits. Had a couple down days, and some insomnia, but no real bad side effects. They say it usually takes 4-6 weeks to feel the full effect, and sometimes longer.

shiraz9944 02-26-2016 03:46 PM

yup exactly what I figured, they changed the formulation of ambien and now it makes me hallucinate and feel sick as a dog the next day. It does take a good 4-6 weeks to kick in but it DOES help but there will be time when you have an acute attack or some other event and it will be handy to have them. Or maybe the doc will put you up to 40 on the lexapro, 20 is a VERY low dose so you are doing great man!

My Dr. gave those to me a few years back and wtf man never again will I take those. I lost the sense of right and wrong. Some dude made my GF at the time cry and I tried to kill him.
I should still be in jail today. Never once did I think I was doing anything wrong either.
Crazy shit.

I am of Xanax now for a few months...

shiraz9944 02-26-2016 05:36 PM

xanax is a very good therapeutic drug for depression, what are you reading? It's the shortest acting benzo so it's got more potential for abuse vs ativan or valium or klonopin. These are very good and effective medications someone must have given you something else (meth)? cause xanax does nothing but calm you down and sometimes put you to sleep.

Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination. Combining with other substances, particularly alcohol, can slow breathing and possibly lead to death.:Oh crap:Oh crap

shiraz9944 02-26-2016 08:17 PM

brassmonkey that was super extreme to say the least, you've have to down the entire bottle drink a fifth of liquor and add some benadryl to help slow you more then maybe, just maybe you might stop breathing. Though I doubt it.

gnawledge 02-26-2016 10:11 PM

90 bars a month? Damn. If it works, take it. Life can be a shit sandwich. Be careful, withdrawal sucks. It is almost like, if you take it for an extended time--you gotta feel like death warmed over and emotional. Be safe.

Not really. One of my friends stopped breathing in his sleep on just 2 klonopin and a few beers.. He spent months in the hospital. He has trouble moving his left side to this day.. But he insufflated them.

gnawledge 02-26-2016 10:33 PM

My friend took 8 mg a day for a long time. He went cold turkey and had seizures and went crazy. He threw food around and hit his wife. Rough shit.

He has another thread about how to make his penis bigger and if it is possible. Maybe that is the issue bringing him down.
I told him smaller penis means find girl with smaller mouth. Problem solved.

Sometimes depression comes with panic attacks / anxiety.
It is not uncommon to prescribe a short term of benzos when treating depression.

You most probably weren't on Xanax. Cause on Xanax you don't give a fuck what's going on around you. The guy could have been beating your GF and you wouldn't care.

It's possible you were on some kind of anti-psychotics.

Video-Post 02-27-2016 09:27 AM

Dude, Benzos are not the first choice for sleeping problems. In fact, they only make it worse and guarantee that you won't be able to fall asleep naturally after a very short period of using them.

:warning

The Porn Nerd 02-27-2016 09:51 AM

The problem with Xanax - which is why people like it so much - is it turns you into a zombie. It's actually a tranquilizer isn't it? Like a cow tranquilizer or something? I know take too much and you can paralyze your face muscles. Or maybe that's Botox....

Anyway stop with all the meds. They're fucking with your body chemistry and keeping the depression/anxiety cycle going. Best of luck either way man!

I take .5 before I fly, and its blue color.

well you don't take them thru your nose and you DO NOT EVER drink with benzos.........why would his behavior make them bad meds? Heath Ledger did the same thing too, you cannot mix alcohol with them

yeah they are not supposed to used extensively for sleep or anything and need to monitored by a physician. If you are up to 8 mg a day you MUST taper slowly off for months. Benzos are the only drugs that can really nearly kill you if you go super high and then stop stupidly.

I think a lot depends on the person. Myself as an example, they actually made me normal. I wasn't a zombie at all. While taking 14 - 16mg a day, I was able to wake up at 5am to hit the gym, get my purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and run a multi million dollar company. I was forced to quit cold turkey, and though I didn't have seizures, I did go into full blown psychosis for a week - that was interesting. But it effects people differently, especially if their brain chemistry doesn't require the medication. I would wake up in the morning and take a full bar before hitting the gym. Most people would eat a full bar and sleep the next two days.

I hear ya man. I had a girlfriend once who chilled out and was quiet and 'normal' after doing cocaine all night. Off coke she was a hyper mess, bouncing around all day and night.

We looked into it and found that a small percentage of people actually have the opposite reaction to a drug (chilling out on coke, getting hyper on heroin, etc). So yeah, it all depends on a person's chemistry. Too bad you had to quit cold turkey.

Oh, and every xanax I've ever seen is blue. :)
