I mean, shit.. Watching a live firefight on CNN.. Why do we need to be watching this? We know war is horrible, do we really need to have real images to put to the nightmares?

Well, the big buzz on tv now a days is 'Reality Television' so this is the news channels attempts to get in on it. Good job I think.

If we didn't have the live news coverage people would be complaining that the gov was trying to cover something up.

What's insane is that they have the same exact live camera shot on every damn channel. You'd think that it was the only spot where there's anything going on.

For the last hour+ CNN, Headline News, MSNBC and FoxNews have all had the exact same thing.

Like they're afraid they'll miss something and the other network will have it live.

I was extremely annoyed the other morning when I went to turn on Clifford the big red dog for my daughter and there was nothing but crap about the war. I finally had to find the PBS channel to let her watch Dragon Tales (Thankfully she likes that show or I would have been slapping a DVD into the player for her). There IS such a thing as overkill.

Are you crippled? Switch it off if you don't like it. I'm sure there are some I Love Lucy reruns going somewhere.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind watching some current event footage of good combat coverage...makes me reminisce from the first Desert Storm when I was over there...but I can only watch the same boring view for so long LOL...

not everyone has cable, hence it's being on network television. god forbid CBS show it and not NBC or ABC too

I keep the CNN coverage on in the background because to be honest, since 9/11 I've been a news whore. Suddenly the world interests me. Just wish I had a way to switch channels in my office (I grab my tv feed from another room via RCA cables) otherwise I'd flip between BBC and CNN. Amazing how much of a different slant you get on BBC but I hate english accents so it's hard to listen to for long :1orglaugh

Watching this makes me even more adament in the personal convinction that I'd never want to take part in a war.
