If You're With Verizon...
If you're with Verizon in NY, FL, MA, VA, NJ or PA you can now get local service with caller ID, 3 way calling, call waiting, voicemail, speed dial & untimed, UNLIMITED inter- & intrastate long distance all for $55 a month! It's their new Veriations Freedom plan, I was going to switch to that Vonage Broadband phone service but hell, this is just $15 more & I won't lose my phone if the power goes out! :1orglaugh I'm sure this will be offered to all Verizon customers in the future but if you're in one of the selected areas definitely call them for more details. I just switched today, goodbye $200 phone bills... :thumbsup

let them switch your dsl
they will get your line working before they disconnect the old dsl service so you wont have any down-time i had to switch when directTV dsl went out of business. its the best way to do |
Maybe I'm wrong, but earthlink is doing this for $39.95/mo with availability everywhere?
Are we talking cell phones or home phones here? This is a home phone plan... http://www.unlimitedvoice.com/ There are other companies with similar deals, but earthlinks looked to be priced the best. If the verizon plan is for WIRELESS usage... well... thats a pretty decent deal :) [edit] hmm nope.. this is for home as well. |
We're talking a home phone landline. That Earthlink service is like Vonage, it's through your internet connection which means if your power goes down, your phone line's gone. Also, you need to be subscribed to their internet package. And I think with the broadband phone services you can't even call 911. Verizon offers your normal local phone service + all the extra calling features + unlimited long distance. Still seems like the best deal out there IMO.

I wist to go I could bet hi speed internet where I am.
No DSL, No Cable, Nothing. I had to go with direcway 2way satellite. It is ok, but not fast enough. 750$ to install and then 55 per month. This sucks. |
our phone company has a complete monopoly. and their service totally blows, to boot. other companies tried to come here, and they can't :(

the amusing thing though, verizon owns all the cell towers for the local telco here, but you can't get verizon wireless. silly, silly alltel.
