Crucial Cal/OSHA Meeting on Feb 18 - Last Chance for the Industry to Oppose Proposed Standards Before Final Vote

Free Speech Coalition has issued a call to action - for all industry stakeholders, performers, business professionals or anyone that is employed by adult production companies - Please, join FSC and your industry colleagues to OPPOSE proposed Cal/OSHA regulations for adult movie production at a crucial Cal/OSHA Board of Directors meeting on February 18, at 10am. The meeting will be held at Harris State Bldg Auditorium, 1515 Clay St, Oakland, CA 94612.

This is the LAST CHANCE for industry members to voice their opposition on the proposed regulations before they are voted on by the Cal/OSHA board.

If you are an industry member and need financial help with travel from Los Angeles to Oakland on the day of the meeting, contact [email protected] for more information on travel assistance.

Some of the requirements included in the proposed regulations are:
â?¢ Condoms required for all oral, vaginal and anal sex. NO exceptions.
â?¢ Eye protection for facials scenes, as well as dental dams for cunnilingus or rimming.
â?¢ Producers will be required to keep performer medical records for up to 30 years.
â?¢ FSC-PASS would be dismantled and performer testing reduced to once every 3 months, using less accurate tests.
â?¢ $25K fine for each violation.
The time for industry members to speak is now, at the Cal/OSHA meeting.

Clearly, if the regulations are passed by state officials, it will make production of adult content in California impossible and drive industry businesses to areas where there is little or no regulation. Approval of the regulations also would set a dangerous precedent for regulatory agencies to refer to, in regards to content production in other states. The Cal/OSHA regulations, which will prove unenforceable, will be a drain on Cal/OSHA's already limited resources, as well as cost California taxpayers millions in unnecessary expenditures.

PS I sent this to jerry the hippie LOL!!!

I had several meetings with CalOSHA about these regs. At one point they seemed willing to work with the industry. They were actually going to take the position that condoms/dental dams were not going to be necessary for oral or they would at least grant variances on a company by company basis as to the regs.

For some reason they completely changed and have gone back to more of a hardline stance. I don't see how the industry will stop the passage of the regs as they are currently written. Vivid for the most part lost their Measure B challenge in federal court.

Once approved by Cal OSHA they will go to Fed OSHA for approval. And if approved by Fed OSHA, the same regs can be adopted by any state in the US - without a vote. This could be the first step in a national condom law.

i wonder if anyone ever shot a scene according to those proposed regulations - and then realized how absurd they are

but I guess they don't care

I'm sure as a lawyer you now realize how dangerous and completely unsafe sex really is... it's scary to think of untrained and unprotected individuals actually having sex and surviving :helpme

kinda offtopic and to be honest: there is a lot of research, polls, opinions and I would say the general consensus is: it depends

for many (especially younger, smarter) people yes, for many old, bitter, stupid people: no
