would you want to live next to a black hole

Stephen Hawkins says it's possible to harness the radiation from a black hole & use it to power the whole of earth. Black holes give off rays at 10million mega watts

Professor Stephen Hawking claims black holes could power human civilisation - or destroy it forever - Mirror Online

I can't understand how it's possible to move a black hole? :helpme

Probably smells better than a hole oozing a few hundred DNA variations.

LetterTwenty7 02-03-2016 06:06 AM

Oh, that black hole. Could be. He seems like a clever mister.

There's more than one type of "black hole". When most people think of black holes, they think of the enormous gravity and light sucking mass at the center of a galaxy, or bad movies called Event Horizon. That's just one type of black hole. If you haven't watched it, check out Particle Fever, a documentary on the research CERN is doing with the LHC. It's spectacular, and yes, I would live next to a black hole.

How appropriate, being Black Heritage Month and all...

You sound knowledgeable to dark matter and black holes. I understand with physics & technology, the energy can be extracted or absorbed. But, I do not understand how they are planning on moving a black hole into the orbit of the earth or after collecting the energy, how's it possible to transport it back to earth?

Do you have any ideas on this Rob?

I'd consider it. Depends if there were any decent pubs within walking distance.

If that guy was so smart, he would have worked out that he got damaged by a vaccine

sandman! 02-03-2016 10:48 AM

sure why not :)

Gary (pretending to be Nat), you have stated time after time that you can tell that someone has aids just by looking at them. And that by doing so you know that its safe for your wife (Nat) to have unprotected sex with them when you pimp her out as a prostitute.

So considering thats your intelligence, I fear black holes are a bit above you thinking.

Stick to simple things Gary.

What makes you think Hawking is talking about moving a black hole? P.s. there is no article in your link, only a blurb.

I'm not from the same generation as him, vaccines change over time, different ones get pushed, then there's also travel vaccines to take into account. It only takes one bad reaction and that's it.

Once again people with no understanding of basic physics (not hawkings he gets it) solve the worlds problems with magic.....

Stephen Hawkins says â??It wouldn't be easy however, to harness a mini black hole. You couldn't keep it in a power station, because it would drop through the floor and end up at the centre of the Earth.

â??If we had such a black hole, about the only way to keep hold of it would be to have it in orbit around the Earth.â?

so how does he think we can move it to orbit around the earth?

There obviously isn't going to be a black hole orbiting the earth, so obviously putting one there was his idea :2 cents:

"that's" your intelligence...

can you stick to your own stupid threads, considering your sig mentions I should stick to mine...

at least I do as I expect from others & post intelligent comments :disgust
