Still fighting in Umm Qasr; not a single city captured yet

I have not seen from a reliable news source that even a single city would have been completely captured yet.

Even in the city of Umm Qasr, which is just a few miles from the Kuwait border, there is still fighting going on.

Shouldn't a smaller city like this right by the border have been cleared already?

News are showing it enthusiastically when tanks are running wild on the empty desert, but there is no video / photos whatsoever from the critical points, such as the strategigally important cities, smaller towns guarding bridges etc.

What seems to be the trend, is calling any and all resistance, "pockets of resistance"..

Please respect your brain, and analyze all the news carefully

Well when you have enemy soldiers mixing with civilians it is always going to be hard to take them out without killing innocents

You won't be able to sway the hardcore news followers here. Everything CNN says has to be absolutely true. It's impossible that they want us to believe things are more in control than they actually are. Even though good news from the war helps the support for war, approval ratings, blah blah blah. Why am I even talking. My first sentence stands.

:(

Have you considered the fact that certain news would actualy jeopordize our troops' safety if it were reported while they were there?

Of course. I was just saying that not a single city has been captured yet, which I find surprising and maybe a little bit disappointing, since Umm Qasr, for example is quite small and right at the border

I wasn't implying at all that ALL the news should be reported. Just saying what we ARE able to deduce from the actual news that have been reported

Bull fucking shit you disingenuous little prick. You're not disappointed, you are hoping that things go bad for the Americans. At least most of the other Yank haters around here are upfront about it.

I take that as an insult.

I may oppose the war, but I support the American troops, since it is reality that they are in war now!

It has been reported that some Iraqi soldiers have exchanged their uniforms for civilian clothes but are still taking pot shots at the troops.
