Not surprising.

Yeah, nobody uploads old shit to file sharing sites.

Big surprise.

adultmobile 01-23-2016 08:39 AM

I think it's same for old porn vs new porn. The vintage porn sites are the future.

SpicyM 01-23-2016 08:45 AM

No wonder, the new stuff sucks big time

BlackCrayon 01-23-2016 09:02 AM

not surprising but the old stuff isn't sell more, its just that the new stuff is selling less.

Not surprising. "New" music today sucks absolute BALLS. No one can play their instruments, no one can sing without auto-tuning, the producers make all the recordings sound the same....fuck that shit gimme Zeppelin.

Yeah, pirated new music downloads in the billions can't affect sales; the music must suck.

Just like with porn, the affiliates not stealing content simply sucked and tubes had no choice but to take over.

there has been some amazing music in the last decade. i don't live the past or the so called glory days but 2015 was a very poor year for music. for film as well. just a few good ones here and there.

Slick 01-23-2016 10:19 AM

Years ago, it was all about the whole album, in today's music, it's all about the single.

Naw, file lockers, piracy, etc is not the issue. The RIAA tried for years to stop piracy (including suing the downloaders) and that backfired. No, the issue is the music today SUCKS ASS.

Name me ONE (just ONE) "rock star" today. Name me ONE (just ONE) awesome rock and roll band that could live up to Led Zeppelin, The Stones or The Who.

There aren't any.

People know shit when they hear it so they go for the good stuff (pre-2000).

LetterTwenty7 01-23-2016 11:26 AM

Agreed. :GFYBand:drinkup

Rochard 01-23-2016 12:11 PM

This is because it's much easier for us to find older music.

Ten years ago if you wanted a certain album by Hall & Oates your local music store might not have it in stock. But online you can buy it instantly.

Didn't say piracy was good. It's just not the cause for people buying older music vs. newer music, that's all.

Or is that raccist?

Coup 01-23-2016 01:43 PM

I don't know what you talkin about. Ribbet Hog is selling like crack rocks

LAJ 01-23-2016 01:45 PM

With the exception of a few bands here and there, new music for the past 10 - 15 years or so has sucked ass. And there plenty more of it even.

ITraffic 01-23-2016 01:48 PM

guess it makes sense demographically as there are probably more seniors or near-seniors than younger people now.

VRPdommy 01-23-2016 02:23 PM

Goes to show what age group has money to spend on music or anything else from 'disposable' income.
