Google Core Algo update confirmed

A lot of people thought that the recent turbulence in rankings was caused by a Penguin update or a 'ghost' update.

It turns out that it's part of something much bigger: Google changed its core algo

Check this out for some key lessons founds when analyzing the big winners and losers of this update: Google Core Update 2016: Analysis of Winners and Losers Searchmetrics SEO Blog

Quote:

Parallel to this development many publishers have actually won in Google.com search results. Particularly those publishers with current or holistic content. Top winner according to our most recent Suite data is gq.com. On gq.com the biggest winning URL is a comprehensive article about NFL star Tom Brady, shown here in the screenshot on the left.

The article contains photos and a video and a lot of text (more than 3000 words including an interview). A test with Content Optimization in the Searchmetrics Suite shows that the article covers all important subtopics about entity Tom Brady.

Whether a publisher or brands won or lost for a specific keyword is dependent on the individual QDF score that Google calculates according to current events and user behavior, particularly search volume. For topics that are current, obviously publishers with current content witnessed visibility gains.

The level of ignorance on that analysis is stunning!!! they are making up terms just to generate more confusion, the classic example is the analysis they make on this domain:

BrainPOP

Saying they have no idea how the site has increased its ranks when there is a "lack of content" (implying this when they are shoing the cache version of the site, that by they way they are analyzing it wrong as well).

Do you want me to tell you why the site has increased its ranks?

What about analyzing backinks genious? the most important SEO since... for ever!!!

The site has backlinks from the bbc, the nytimes, the uk government, cnn and many, many authoritative backlinks more!!! I wonder how it has increased its ranks dah!!!

Don't you think they comparatively factored that in?

If you read the entire article it seems like they didn't the started talking about other factors and they even said they had no explanation for their increment traffic/rankings.

It's actually a Google Albacore update for their latest algorithm, Tuna.

Barry-xlovecam 01-19-2016 05:21 PM

You mean it smells like tuna and tastes like chicken?:1orglaugh

3 things are certain in life: death, taxes and Google updates ... Each has conflicting advisors too.

So what about the whitelabels?

For cams I do't see big change.. at top is chaturbate, bongacams, cam4 for most searches; often naked.com and livejasmin.com and myfreecams too.. some streamate whitelabels made it to first page for some keywords...

Because that line marks an update of the Search Console, not a Google algorithm update.
