Do you have any development in the Ukraine?
The Ukraine has massive inflation and the trade sanctions with Russia are not going to help... if you have outsourced developers located in the Ukraine, now might be a good time to start evaluating other options.
http://www.fez.media/wp-content/uplo...lation-cpi.png With inflation almost at 50%, that means EVERYTHING costs 50% more. When staples start costing 50% more if your business is not located in the Ukraine, you'll either have to pay your teams 50% more so they can maintain their standard of living or the temptation to make money other ways needs to be taken into consideration. Imagine if it cost 50% more to eat, but you didn't make any more money... You can still save money by outsourcing your development teams, just source them from countries in the European Union. Their inflation rate has been more stable than the American rate. I've been working with a firm out of Romania since 2006 - I can hook you up if you'd like to evaluate other options :pimp |
I based myself there for the better part of a decade, it's a great place. Unique

You can probably maintain your rates for a little while but if prices go up by 50%, you're going to have to make that up some how. |

If you're playing them in US dollars, why would the rate of local currency inflation have any effect? Wouldn't that make US dollars be able to buy them more food and supplies per dollar?
|
and did you check USD to UAH rates ?
it basically already covered whole inflation, if not more:1orglaugh:1orglaugh Quote:

I'v read somewhere recently that they are already back to level from 70 years ago or so. Well, they asked for it. At least they have Maydan. Same thing happened in ex-yugoslavia when it was disintegrated. Most of people are going to be fucked up. but some will make serious money.

I have some friends I have worked with in the Ukraine before in the past, and they tell me things there are bad. Just getting money into the country is difficult, and even if you can get the money there it's difficult for them to get out of the bank.
|
Those guys should be aware that money from banks could disappear at some point. In the beginning it is hard to withdraw it and then it will be completely impossible. I've witnessed how people lost all their life savings in these situations. Banks stop working,if they are not insured (and most of them are probably not(, they will loose everything.

I cringe every time i read "the" Ukraine. It's just Ukraine guys :)
That being said, if you are paying them in USD then you are already covering the depreciation of their currency. They are probably fucking ECSTATIC to be working for you. Outsourcing to the EU is much more expensive too, in Poland at least IT salaries are like 5x the national average... |

So you make a thread about how bad a country is struggling. Saying people shouldnt use them because of a struggling economy. If they are so bad you shouldnt be worried about them effecting your business. Sounds strange no? Already pointed out the exchange makes MORE SENSE to do business there now more then ever. Plus anyone who trusts gypsy stupid Romanians is nuts. The entire country of Romania I auto add to my billing block lists. Scamming gypsy filth. |
