Newbie questions about content from a newbie

:helpme Hello, everyone,

I want to buy content for my new pay site. I am quite new in the issue of content licensing and would like to get some feedback from you veteran webmasters/mistresses.

First, what kind of documents should I keep for tax purpose? I don't have a company, it's just me. I think I can write off the content cost from the income. But what should I keep for record? I buy content through PayPal or credit card. Does the confirmation emails work?

Then, what about license? Do I need to sign it and mail it back to the content sellers? Will they sign it too and mail it back to me? Do I have to do it every time I buy a new set? I know Reyko gives a pdf file with licensor's signiture. Does any other company do the same?

Do I need the models' ID? I know MatrixContent and PaulMarkham include the IDs in the set. Anyone else provide IDs without additional fees? Is that really important to me, or should I just take the word of the content companies? How much content you bought did come with models' ID (10% or 90%)?

Any constructive advices are welcome. I am willing to spend the money, but I don't want to get in trouble even when I don't use magazine scan images :glugglug

This is something MrPopup, GFY's resident attorney should address.
Peace.

Wow, this is so not the forumn for you. Basically, it sounds like you don't know what you are doing, so starting a paysite is useless for you. You won't make money off of it, simple as that. Sorry to break it to you, but unless you know those answers off by heart from years of working in the industry already, you won't last, and you will lose $$$ not make $$$

My suggestion to you would be to check out some of the resources for new webmasters. Ynot, Cozy Acadamy and various other places such as Xbiz have a ton of articles and how-tos for newbie webmasters.. You can hit me up via email or icq and I can send you urls and resource addresses, I don't have them all at hand right now. Best of luck.

Find adult attorney first if you are taking serious to do this business.

Need to sign a license agreement.

Set a liability limited company to protect your liability. If you are not care about yourself, you may do it by youselt. But it is high risky.

publish all custodian of the records on 2257 statement.

See our site if you have time
