Playboy Mansion For Sale 200 Million
http://ll-media.tmz.com/2016/01/08/0...on-getty-3.jpg
The Playboy Mansion -- the backdrop of some of the wildest parties ever thrown in L.A. -- is for sale ... TMZ has learned. The 6 acre Holmby Hills estate, built in 1927, will be listed sometime within the next month. Our real estate sources say the owner -- Playboy Enterprises -- is looking to get somewhere north of $200 million. Real estate sources with knowledge of the area say the owners are dreaming when it comes to price. They say the reality is ... the house is a tear-down and the real value is the acreage and that a comparable lot sold recently in the area for $60 mil, but the sources say because of its history the Mansion could go for anywhere between $80 mil and $90 mil. Our sources say they believe the people at Playboy Enterprises will come back down to reality and list the estate at a realistic number. There are several strings attached. We're told whoever buys it will be required to give Hugh Hefner a life estate, meaning he can continue to live in the mansion until he dies. As for the other string ... we're told prospective buyers can tour the property but one area is off limits ... Hef's bedroom. I'll buy it when I win the powerball tonight.. Gotta keep the place for the bunnies :thumbsup

Only here in the U.S. would they tear down that place.
Hell, here in Vegas they tear shit down while it's still practically new. lol Can you imagine some of the huge estates and cathedrals and castles in Europe that are hundreds of years old being torn down? |
another manwin success story?

Even better, I would insist on a contract that says whoever buys it can't tear it down. Can you imagine if Donald Trump were to buy that house? He would turn it into the ugliest thing ever. Here in Montreal there is some kind of law that prevents old buildings from being taken down. They can only be bought and sold under the condition that they are repaired or built back up in a way that maintains the heritage of the place or area. The Playboy Mansion would deserve the same treatment. At worst, maybe turn it into a museum or something. I hope that whoever ends up owning it keeps it as-is. |

been there, place is a fucking dump

I would def have to re-cement the pool and hot tub. |
heard it smells like stale cum and dirty adult diapers.

been there a couple times, the indoors makes the outdoors look pristine. is there any historical significance to the home? i know a lot of homes here in LA are on the historical record and cannot be torn down and in fact have to open their doors to tours and such. i'm a buff of local architecture and been on quite a few of the tours.

If I had won the powerball and really was interested in buying it I wouldn't tear it down but I would have to gut it to make it nice again.. It's not worth over $80- $90 million and that is to someone that respects Playboy. You don't just make a house worth $200 million cause it was a huge party house.. Frat houses have huge parties all the time and they devalue the places. Restored in pristine shape I could maybe see that figure. |

But if you go to the Southern stats (old slave mansions) you will find wooden houses are a few hundred years old as well, that could be in great shape. The houses buils in the last part of the colonial period in those areas were great, because they had shitloads of Money. My wife and I went to Florida two years ago, and spend two days looking at these kind of houses, because they are a great display of craftsmanship https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamble...ric_State_Park |
The Playboy Mansion may be an old construction unit masonry structure.
Unless the masonry has been reinforced that mansion is used under a grandfathered-in certificate of occupancy-- it doesn’t meet current earthquake building code. If that is the case; you need a building permit to do anything AND a new certificate of occupancy to close the permit. It might cost $10's of millions to rehab that structure into compliance with the current building code. Complicated deal to be sure ... |

https://www.ibtimes.com/playboy-mans...-daren-2402947 Hugh Hefner’s Playboy mansion was sold Tuesday to the billionaire owner of Twinkies, neighbor Daren Metropoulos for $100 million. Hefner will, however, continue to reside at the 29-room mansion. Hef died abt a year later. Binged the recent Secrets of Playboy where a few play-mates from 30 or 50 years ago complain and cry a lot. |

why would you bump a thread from 2016 when we all know the story? The Playboy Mansion is not currently for sale. It was sold in 2016 to Daren Metropoulos. Metropoulos purchased the property for $100 million and intended to renovate and restore it. He has since been living next door to the mansion. While the mansion was previously listed for sale with a price tag of $200 million, the final sale price was $100 million. As part of the sale agreement, Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy, was allowed to remain living in the mansion until his death, which occurred in 2017. |
