Babaganoosh 03-21-2003 09:56 PM

Yes, and I'm sure that the average surfer knows what they are and how to get by them.

I use mouseovers, all say Don't CLICK HERE unless you have a credit card

Libertine 03-22-2003 04:06 AM

What kind of mouseovers are you talking about? Changing the window.status when someone hovers over a link? Changing an image when someone hovers over it? Giving a popup when someone hovers over something with his mouse?

<a href="" onmouseover="window.status='fuck you dickwad'; return true" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true">window status</a>
<a href="" onmouseover="alert('Eat shit fuckface'); return true">alert box</a>
<a href="" onmouseover="window.open('about: go fuck yourself'); return true">popup</a>

These are all mouseovers, so, what kind are you talking about?

evildick 03-22-2003 06:19 AM

I use them to change a sponsor code to show the real url of the site instead of a huge ccbill affiliate code, but other than that I think they suck ass.

AdultNex 03-22-2003 06:21 AM

Btw, are there any "good" mouseovers that don't show the real target URL when you click and hold on the link?

You mean like <a href="http://www.gofuckyourself.com" onmouseover="window.status='fuck you'; return true" onfocus="window.status='fuck you'; return true" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true">this one</a>?

Nevermind, that's not it.

This is the onfocus() one. It shows what you specify when the mouse is held down on a link (what you asked for, in other words). If that's not it, say what you need and I most likely know it.

ZoiNk 03-22-2003 09:37 AM

I only use onmouseovers to hide the ref code so it shows the real URL, so ppl don't seee http://www.sponsors.blah/cgi-bin/aff...b&site=1233222 instead they see http://www.nude-lesbians-with-big-cocks.com/

What I'm referring to is what ZoiNk is trying to accomplish (2 posts up).

I tried that with the code you specified, but it still shows the actual URL if you click and supress the link.
