Anyone know a WP plugin that does this?

Anyone know a plugin that can produce a content restriction message that pushes people to sign up for your mailing list?

Also, the restriction message must be customizable.

Something like this:

It has to be customizable and I can add linked text in it.

Is this a custom job?

I've been searching. Can't find it.

This waits until you scroll down.

I've checked out SumoMe but it doesn't obscure the content and force you to sign up to the newsletter.

This is a great way to turn temporary mainstream traffic into RETURN traffic.

How much of your traffic will just exit out of the site?

I figure I'll set the plugin's timer to cover people who've read at least 1 or 2 full stories.

I'd like to push people who actually appreciate the content to get off the fence and get on my list so I can notify them of news stories later.

Any help?

Personally as a surfer I hate those things. When I encounter them I usually just close out of the window completely.

In tests, I lost more traffic than i was getting. There are better ways to get people to sign up.

Well, with the proper timing, it should work to recruit only those surfers who actually would want to join.

Whenever you consume online content, your behavior is giving off all sorts of signals...

Time spent on a page
Scrolling patterns, etc etc

You can do it very easily with jQuery. Check this quick example I just made: A Pen by Captain Anonymous

As you can see, after 200 pixels scrolled, the div "modal" is called. This is basic HTML/JS, very easy to customize. You can combine with Cookies to not show the modal more than once if it has been closed or even use a modal plugin such as Colorbox.

I highly recommend you to use Stack Overflow, there are plenty of web developers ready to help.

How much do you think it will cost to get custom coded?

I need it integrated with Aweber.

I'll probably need a network of 8 to 10 sites at first using the same system then, if things pan out, scale up to several dozen sites.

http://www.elegantthemes.com/plugins/bloom/

I have a lifetime license and could setup it for you cheaper than a developer license (with updates) if you would like such a service.

okay, I'm checking it out. It seems to act like Popupdomination and other Popup plugins but I'm looking for CONTENT OBFUSCATION. See the screenshot above.

Does bloom do this?

Also, the popup has to be tied to the viewer's content consumption pattern/timing.

Ninja Popups for WordPress - WordPress | CodeCanyon

I have seen a plugin that does this if you do a post on twitter.

I'm not sure this one will work as a content locker. I own it and use it and haven't ever seen that option.

This one does however do what he wants:

I take that back. Ninja Popups will work as a content locker. I would probably go with that one. Great plugin and this makes it even more enticing.

Thanks for this, candyflip.

Ninjapopups is looking very promising. Very customizable. I'm still trying to figure out if it can do cookie timer-based content obfuscation for the email collection box I have in mind.

Try ninja popups.

Any other suggestions?
