Twitter experts, step inside please

Anyone know how I can do this?

Find the hottest trending news (most tweeted about) for a SPECIFIC category every single day?

For example, if I am interested in tracking Justin Bieber's latest wise antics, I just have to use Twitter this way to get the latest news every single day.

Anyone know how to do this?

I'd be eternally grateful :)

Don't you have options for the left side where it says trends you can change cities etc.. i would think you could find the most popular trends of the day as a whole .. OH for a specific category , I'm not too sure , you would think #justinbeiber or you would have to look up a hashtag to see? not sure has to be an easier way!

Thanks for responding

I've tried both methods. Both are unreliable.

hashtags aren't that accurate

Also, hot trends are not in the category I'm looking for.

I'm sure there's a tool that does it out there.....

Maybe I set up a hot list and the tool retrieves topics on that hot list?

The trending hashtags are cool for tag spamming but I'm not looking for traffic

I'm looking for INTEREST VOLUME

Can anyone help?

Maybe Google Trends can be helpful: https://www.google.com/trends/

They show the latest 24 hours trends. You can combine it with Reddit

I highly doubt you can get any better than this.

I appreciate your help but the problem is Google trends just shows search trends (unless I'm looking at the wrong thing)

I'm looking for actual topics or, better yet, most popular content regarding a particular category every 24 hours.

Justin Bieber, there's your problem :Graucho

Research Twitter tools, and you can search for hashtags like #JustinBieber

Google data and twitter data is one and the same now, Twitter very quietly turned on "the firehose" and gave Google access to all of its data about six months ago

Okay, cool but is there a tool where I just type in a niche and I get a list of the most tweeted content about that niche on any particular day or period of time?

If I'm understanding correctly, you don't want to see a trend, per se, you want to see all the tweets related to a specific topic. This is actually pretty easy to get in a format that will allow you to manipulate it into usable data.

Using queryfeed.net you can create an rss feed of any keyword you like. In your example, your favourite musician Justin Bieber. On queryfeed enter justinbieber.

That gives you an rss feed of https://queryfeed.net/tw?q=justinbieber

Now that is just a raw feed that doesn't give you everything, it just gives you the most recent information. You then need to capture the data using a simple database and then you can build queries off the data.

Its probably better to use the official Twitter API but this could get you started.

Is this more what you were looking for? There is nothing "off the shelf" that I'm aware of. You'd have to build it.

Actually, here's the breakdown

Say I want to know which content about say LADY GAGA is most tweeted/retweeted/shared TODAY, I type in LADY GAGA and I see the list of content in descending order in terms of social action.

Does this tool exist?

I've used BuzzSumo but it isn't up to the job.

I like the influencer function.

That would come in handy for traffic generation.

I'm still stumped re niche-specific daily trending content though.

Thanks for the share nonetheless

Use Tweetdeck. Do a search and set the results as a column.

Does it also sort in terms of retweets?

BoomBoomBenoit 12-31-2015 05:40 AM

Here are two tools that might help with what you're looking for:

SproutSocial

Hootsuite's uberVU tool

Both of these tools (and a number of others) provide detailed analytics on topics and trends in social media. I'm pretty sure they'll have what you need. If they don't out of the box, I'm sure they'll add it because I can definitely see the potential in what you're asking for :)

Let me know if either of those are closer to what you need!

Robin 12-31-2015 08:26 AM

Have you checked hashtags.org? Besides this you can use Hootsuite or Klout.

Does it sort the results (per content item) in terms of retweet volume? Favorites volume?

mce 01-02-2016 04:04 AM

Any other ideas? I need a niche specific approach to finding POPULAR tweeted content for a particular time frame.

Paul Markham 01-02-2016 04:48 AM

A high Tweeted subject will be in the News on the relevant News Sites.

Follow those and then you have the most "POPULAR tweeted content for a particular time frame."

If you want a tool that does everything for you. Everyone will be using it and the advantage Null and Void.

Yeah, I want a tool that does this. It doesn't matter if everyone and his brother is using it because most people use tools for different reasons and most people don't use tools the right way anyway. I just need a better alternative to paying people to do it manually.
