Do you think you'll convert more if you unblock ad blockers?
I've been checking out ad blocker killing technology recently...... but one question keeps coming to mind.
Wouldn't this just tick people off? I mean, there's a reason why they chose to use ad blockers, right? Anyone here actually enjoy a significant increase in ROI because of anti-ad blocking plugins and software? |
Theres probably only a small percent that actually uses ad blockers

I think if someone visits your website with an ad-block activated, and see your content locked, they will just leave your website and search the same content on another website. It's not really a smart solution. People who uses ad-blocks don't interact with online advertising at all.
A interesting approach would be to show a message, saying that deactivating the ad-block to your domain will help the website to continue online. |

Who gives a fuck what they think? You can't sell a product it they can't see it.

Why not instead of making people with ad blockers turn them off, just replace the ads that are being blocked with basic html ads and ref link in place of broker ads that get blocked, using php to randomize and keep them niche specific? No one will notice and it's better than no ads and the ad blockers wouldn't be able to tell the difference from those and regular hyperlinked images.

I don't rely on ads and when I do, I make them non standard sizes. |
The question is also if the ads bring any value for the customer or not.
While I don't mind to see targeted ad sense adds on stuff I've been looking for, countless ads and pop ups with massive photoshopped dicks next to content I'm looking for or another video ad on "make $ 1234367 a day using this simple trick" get annoying real fast. Of course as long as it will be CPM only the ad brokers will have little motivation to do anything about it. |
It's a problem -- adblockers must be having a great effect on Google's AdSense product.
Adblockers' effects on our affiliate tools are mixed. Tools that affiliates make with XloveCash XML feeds that are custom parsed, unique content and with images will evade adblockers for now and be seen. There is no easy solution from my end. Whether to ban client's with adblockers depends on the content you have to offer that will;
the issue is pretty cut and dry :2 cents: |
been playing with adblocker recently.. it's interesting what does and doesn't get blocked

It depends a lot on your traffic, but in adult, yea I'd say its around that... at least last we checked our traffic it was close to 50% of surfers that run adblockers when visiting adult tube sites. I've also seen articles that says it's the same percentage on gaming sites. |
