I vote for Paul Markham.. I just spend 5 hours reading the thread where he shot a scene for Fabien/Nathan/Manwin. He really annoyed me with his "I'm always right" bullshit, but he did it, never backed down and admitted he made some mistakes. The guy knows more about porn than most of us.. I learned a lot from him, but the fact he never wants to learn from others shouldn't be a factor. The guy is retired. He's legit. He's oldschool. And he deserves an award in my book.

The one thing that would prevent me from agreeing is something I think that is mostly overlooked when thinking about Paul and GFY...

Its that he was given his very own forum on GFY and what did he do with it? Spent every post arguing with DamianJ... Before actually doing it so much, he ended up getting banned from GFY... MADNESS...

Stop and think for a moment. Your OWN forum (for FREE) on the largest webmaster site on the internet and you have a product to sell to noobs and old timers alike. An unbelievably bad wasted opportunity. Think how much it costs for just a banner on here. Think how much it costs to skin the site for just a week? Huge money - But he gets his own forum, 'endorsed' by GFY simply by its existence, for free as a place to promote and sell his products in perpetuity... And what does he do with it?

He has said that he missed the boat himself when it came to launching a paysite in the early days online. Kinda understandable and forgivable as he concentrated on what he knew - Selling his work to (now) outdated concepts ie magazines... Fair enough.

Nut to miss out again on the opportunities his own forum as part of GFY afforded him? Unforgivable.

The above isn't an out and out attack on Paul, however the award is for the GFY hall of fame - Meaning based upon your presence and what your presence has achieved on GFY, as a total of a whole - The sum of its parts and the missed forum opportunity sours all the other stuff.

Do I have a right to be upset at his choices? No, of course not. Neither do I have the right to criticise him - He can and does do what he wants. Its just my personal opinion and nothing more :) I just down feel that with that black mark on his record he qualifies for 'Hall of Fame' :2 cents:

That forum was set up to take the piss out of him knowing everything about everything. He would have needed a ghostwriter who could have posted there without getting emotionally involved in the nonsense to have actually made it a selling venue for his work.

Pretty sure if someone wiped Damian and Adam from there it would improve enormously.

The same thing in fewer words - Paul was handed a goose that laid golden eggs by GFY. Instead of saying thanks and living off the eggs, he instead decided to not look after or feed the goose and then one day shoot it in the head because he was feeling peckish and fancied goose for lunch.

Agreed, but it was still his own forum - How he chose to use it was his decision.

That forum that was for Paul was made way after he was done doing his thing. If it had been made 10 years ago I could see your point but when it was made it really didn't mean much at all if you are saying he could have made bank from it.
He was selling his content to anyone and everyone for pennies by that time.
It meant nothing that he was banned. Well maybe a few bucks but it didn't bother him at all.
He was retired and just doing shit the way he does. You can't teach an old dog new tricks and Paul is an old dog. Hell most of us are old dogs now.
It probably looks like I do not like Paul in the past but he is who is he and I think I will vote for him.
I have not voted yet but I will go take a look now.

The difference of opinion between me and webmasters comes from different views of the same business.

I was selling content for $1,000s while webmasters were offered $100s. We were selling from the stores for more than anyone would pay exclusive.

I was saying people were losing sales by giving away content.

The most important thing was.
I was saying the content offered determined the number of people who came.
